Daily U.S. casualties

Afghanistan: As of Tuesday, at least 792 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department.

No new U.S. deaths were reported by the military.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

Marine Staff Sgt. Aaron J. Taylor, 27, of Bovey, Minn., died Friday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province. Assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Marine Lance Cpl. Alfonso Ochoa Jr., 20, of Armona, Calif., died Saturday while supporting combat operations in Farah province. Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

Iraq: As of Tuesday, at least 4,349 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.

No new U.S. deaths or identifications were reported.
