Daily U.S. casualties

Afghanistan: As of Wednesday, at least 799 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, according to the Defense Department.

No new deaths were reported by the military.

The latest identification reported by the military:

Marine Lance Cpl. David R. Baker, 22, of Painesville, Ohio, died Tuesday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Iraq: As of Wednesday, at least 4,351 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in 2003.

No new deaths were reported by the military.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

Army Staff Sgt. Bradley Espinoza, 26, Mission, Texas; died Monday in a roadside bombing in Qwest; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas
