Daily U.S. casualties

Afghanistan: As of Tuesday, at least 820 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department.

The latest deaths reported by the military:

Eight American service members were killed Tuesday in two roadside bombings in southern Afghanistan.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

Four Marines died Monday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province. They were Cpl. Gregory M.W. Fleury, 23, of Anchorage, Alaska; Capt. Eric A. Jones, 29, of Westchester, N.Y.; Capt. David S. Mitchell, 30, of Loveland, Ohio; and Capt. Kyle R. Van De Giesen, 29, of North Attleboro, Mass. All but Mitchell were assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force based out of Camp Pendleton, Calif. Mitchell was assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Army Sgt. Eduviges G. Wolf, 24, of Hawthorne, Calif., died Sunday in Kunar province of wounds suffered from the explosion of a rocket-propelled grenade. She was assigned to the 704th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Army Pfc. Devin J. Michel, 19, of Stockton, Ill., died Saturday in Zhan province of wounds suffered in a roadside bombing. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Iraq: As of Tuesday, at least 4,351 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.

No new deaths or identifications were reported.
