Pakistan says 12 militants killed, weapons discovered

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistani soldiers killed 12 militants in gunbattles over the past day, officials said Saturday, as government forces pressed on with their offensive in the mountainous Taliban sanctuary of South Waziristan.
The military said that while the army has taken control of two former strongholds — Sararogha and Ladha — there were still occasional clashes with militants. The army was still battling for full control of Makeen, which they call the "nerve center" of the Pakistani Taliban.
The fighting left 12 militants dead and five Pakistani soldiers wounded over the past 24 hours, the military said in a statement, adding that large numbers of weapons and ammunition had been found, some hidden in deep tunnels dug in the hills.
In mid-October, Pakistan launched an offensive in South Waziristan, a semiautonomous tribal region along the Afghan border that has become the main Taliban and al-Qaida sanctuary in the country. The military says hundreds of militants have been killed in the fighting — a claim the Taliban dismisses.

Strange,,, when the pakistani's finally get off their lazy butts and kill them, they're militants and terrorists.
When American troops kill them, they're all just poor little ole innocent civilians.
irony??

PS: 30 years ago the same spineless pakistani military stood around and did NOTHING while the local lunatic diaper-heads rioted, and attacked the US Counsulate, killing two (2) unarmed American servicemen. Those Americans (a Marine and a Army sgt.) gave their lives to protect the people in the american counsulate privilion, supposedly protected by,,, Pakistani military!!!

the TW, being a liberal rag will probably delete my previous two posts,,,, as not "politically correct".
wouldn't want to hurt the precious feelings of cowards that kill un-armed Americans.
