Daily U.S. Casualties

Afghanistan: As of Monday, at least 833 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department.

No new U.S. deaths were reported by the military.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

  • Two soldiers died Thursday in Jelewar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered in a roadside bombing. They were Spc. Aaron S. Aamot, 22, of Custer, Wash., and Spc. Gary L. Gooch Jr., 22, of Ocala, Fla. Both assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.


Iraq: As of Monday, at least 4,361 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

The latest deaths reported by the military:

  • Two U.S. pilots were killed Sunday in a helicopter crash in Salahuddin province north of Baghdad.


The latest identification reported by the military:

  • Army Spc. Tony Carrisco Jr., 25, of Berino, N.M., died Wednesday in Ad Dawr, Iraq, of a gunshot wound when enemy forces attacked his unit. Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

As B.Hussein continues to sit on his butt making no decisions about this. All liberals blame this on President Bush, but the congress and this empty suit Hussein could do something about it today if they wanted to.
