Election set for open House seat

OKLAHOMA CITY — Gov. Brad Henry has set a special election to fill an open seat in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

Filing for House District 55, which includes Washita County and portions of Kiowa, Caddo and Canadian counties, will be held Aug. 3-5, with a primary election set for Sept. 8 and a general election slated Oct. 13.

The seat was vacated by Democrat Ryan McMullen, who took a federal appointment. By Staff Reports
