Sullivan blasts Obama plans, says bipartisanship needed
'THAT'S FRIGHTENING'
Rep. John Sullivan:
"I see Barack Obama is creating an enemies list of people who oppose this miserable health care plan. I think that's frightening. That's from a guy that can't even show a long-form birth certificate."

Palin calls Obama's health plan 'evil'.
First District Congressman John Sullivan said Friday that the nation's big problems can't be solved without bipartisanship, but that didn't prevent him from scorching President Barack Obama and the Democrats.
Sullivan opened his remarks to the Tulsa Republican Club by questioning Obama's nationality and alluding to an "enemies list" being compiled from e-mails critical of the administration's health care reform proposal. He spent most of the next 40 minutes attacking the president on matters ranging from energy to management.
"This is a scary time in Washington," he said. "It's a very frightening time. I see Barack Obama is creating an enemies list of people who oppose this miserable health care plan. I think that's frightening. That's from a guy that can't even show a long-form birth certificate. I think we all ought to be prepared to fight that."
Sullivan finished, though, by saying: "Everyone demonizes the other side. We need to all sit down and focus on these vital issues. That's the only way we can address these very, very tough issues."
The "enemies list" reference grew from a White House call to forward to it e-mails with "fishy" information on health care reform. Republicans said the administration is using the e-mails
to compile an enemies list.
The White House has denied the charge, saying it only wants to respond to "disinformation."
Nevertheless, the matter was a popular topic among the full house of about 120. Sullivan was warmly received, except for one man who harangued Sullivan for not challenging Obama's eligibility to serve as president.
The man, shouted down after about a minute, left in a huff to the applause of an audience that seemed more put off by his treatment of Sullivan than his "birther" beliefs.
Clearly, though, the group was more concerned about the massive health care bill percolating in Congress, energy policy and the growing budget deficit.
Sullivan criticized Energy Secretary Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who Sullivan said is "smart but doesn't have any practical energy experience," and he said the health care bill has little chance of passing the House without important changes.
Asked afterward what must be done for the bill to win approval, Sullivan said costs must be reduced and so-called "single-payer" elements that Republicans say would eliminate private insurance must be dropped.
Nevertheless, Sullivan said some sort of reform is needed. A federal insurance plan for those who can't otherwise afford coverage, he said, should be considered, as well as a way to cover individuals with pre-existing conditions.
"One of the things we have to get away from is the idea that employers are responsible for providing insurance," he said.
Sullivan, like Sen. Tom Coburn and other Republicans, favors providing tax credits to individuals to buy their own insurance from private carriers.

"Sullivan began by saying he questioned the authenticity of President Obama's birth certificate..." Are you serious? I thought this argument had already been settled? I agree with Ignatz, Sullivan should start drinking again lol

I'd like to see it mandated that the Senators and Repesentatives enroll in the Plan as it is written and passed instead of being exempt. If it is good enough for the masses it should be good enough for them.

Encouraging bipartisanship, and then questioning the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate is about as productive as showing up at a five alarm fire dressed as a fireman, carrying a can of gasoline. Thanks for nothing, senator.

This is scary. Obummer is paranoid and narcissistic. He isn't listening to the budget office, the American people, or anybody else with any common sense.

With a 52 vote majority in the House of Representatives the Democrats can't guarantee passage of Obama's pet program? How about them apples?
With the polls showing that 52% of the people oppose this debacle and only 36% approve it, I wonder why?
Obama's "angry mobs" apparently make up a majority of the voters.

No one questions Obama's citizenship, just as no one questions Arnold Schwarzenegger's citizenship.
Folks simply wonder why Obama won't produce a legitimate birth certificate with the attending physician's signature.
No, Obama's citizenship isn't questioned although his patriotism certainly is.

Here is the deal on Health Care "for the masses": if Congress wants to mandate & oversee America's health care, they have my vote on one simple condition: that they get what we get- plain & simple!!! Same exact coverage, all the way down the line...If it is fine for Obama & friends, then fine with me- "Lead by example!!!You people in DC work for us-come down from your ivory towers & get in touch with real people for a change"- bunch of idiots

Health Care Reform..Like in Canada where it takes months and months to get any real treatment? Forget it. I am tired of lazy people who will not get a job and get their own medical insurance. I had talked to a girl a couple of years ago and she said she had insurance through DHS. Huh? She had 2 kids and was expecting another 1. Glad I got to pay for her deliveries and her kids since she was on welfare.

Arbytree,
Answer this:
1) Jan 21, 2009 Barry Soeterro first act was to put in an execute order stop release of any current or past sitting presidents information (health, birth, education records).
2) For $12 he could make the whole thing go away.
3) It is the law.
4) Why the need to pay law firm $1 mil retainer if no big deal.
5) Conflicting hospitals.
6) Been proven the online cerificate was computer generated. (looks nothing like a 1961 Birth certificate)
7) Could not play little league baseball with a "certificate of live birth'.
What say you now?

vrcTulsa,
Read my post..answer the question. For $12 why doesnt' he just make it go away.
Question: Barry Soeterro (Obama) expects you to turnover your health records but HE doesn't have to turnover his health records to the American public for the highest office in the land. Why? Is that fair?
I await your answer

Obama, you best step down off that high horse and stop telling the American people not question you. There's too many questions not answered and far too many line items that need to be removed from that 1,011 page bill.

"Sullivan began by saying he questioned the authenticity of President Obama's birth certificate..." Heh. Methinks that maybe Congressman Sullivan's trip to the Betty Ford Clinic was a failure. He is either still on the sauce, or, giving him the benefit of the doubt, delusional (or maybe just mean) to join the wingnuts and haters still obsessing over the Birth Certificate thing. My gosh. GET OVER IT!!

Q: Why is community activism encouraged pre-Obama but now it is called 'mob tactics'?
No one is organizing ,no bus loads of any kind, it is both repub and demo's (normal folks) attending and expressing displeasure. That is what CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and FOX (to certain degree doesn't get it) don't get.

At least this guy recognized that he has a problem with alcohol & is trying to get help. Can anyone say the same for "sink/swim" Teddy K?
Sullivan's being overly optimistic on the bipartisan issue. The LIBS in Congress (including the RINO'S) are only worried about taking their marching orders from Barry "Hussein" or the lobbyists who shake their money-trees.
Why else would the LIB media hacks be so frightened by average citizens questioning the complete takeover of our society by these "statists? Mock & diminish...same thing they did to the Tea Party participants.

This guy is nutts..Sullivan...are we still talking about the birth thing?? OMG what a waste of time, I wonder how many unemployed people who have lost their insurance and cant afford cobra are afraid of what might happen to them and their families if they get sick......WAKE UP!!! People need care and a lot of people cant afford it. So should we just leave them in the dark and make them sell everything they own if they can even do that to raise the funds to get to a doctor or specialists....our health care system is BROKEN...its time to do something, its to bad the very people who are scared about all this are the ones it might actually help now or maybe in the future if they actually lose their job.

When Democrats, for example, propose to fund research to give doctors, patients and health plans better information on what works and what doesn't, Republicans sense a sinister plot to have the government decide what treatments you will get. By the same wacko-logic, a proposal that Medicare pay for counseling on end-of-life care is transformed into a secret plan for mass euthanasia of the elderly.

Maybe the "community organizer in-chief" is paranoid because he knows what his motives were to organize community activism?
