Last-minute contributions: The gubernatorial campaigns of Republican Mary Fallin and Democrat Jari Askins each reported contributions from former Oklahoma governor and U.S. Sen. Henry Bellmon on Sept. 30 — one day after Bellmon, a Republican, died at age 88.

Fallin's campaign reported receiving $500 from Bellmon, Askins' $250.

Paddack announcement: State Sen. Susan Paddack, D-Ada, has called a Monday press conference to announce her plans for 2010. Paddack has been rumored as a potential candidate for statewide office, most likely superintendent of public instruction.

Democratic rally: Local Democrats are holding a "Rock 'N' Rally" at 7 p.m. Monday at the University of Tulsa's Allen Chapman Activity Center.

Sponsored by the TU Young Democrats, mayoral candidate Tom Adelson, Dennis and Rae Weese, and George Krumme, the event will feature food, live entertainment and appearances by local Democratic office holders and candidates.

Brogdon at Republican Women's Club: Republican gubernatorial candidate Randy Brogdon will be featured at the Republican Women's Club of Tulsa County meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Tulsa Select Hotel, I-44 and Yale Avenue.

State superintendent candidate to speak: State Superintendent of Public Instruction candidate Janet Baresi will be featured speaker at the Tulsa Republican Assembly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Furr's Buffet in the Farm Shopping Center, 51st Street and Sheridan Road. Baresi has been a
leader in the charter school movement.

Broken Arrow reception: Reservation deadline is Wednesday for a Nov. 16 reception honoring Broken Arrow's elected officials. Those planning to attend should e-mail thelmabaker@brokenarrowchamber.com.

Tickets are $25.

Troy at Luncheon Club: Long-time political observer Frosty Troy will be featured speaker at the Democratic Luncheon Club, which meets at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Baxter's Interurban, 717 S. Houston Ave.
