A Bartlesville neurologist who specializes in Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders will be the featured speaker at Tulsa's American Parkinson Disease Association's annual luncheon for caregivers.

The luncheon will be held 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Silver Arrow Estates, 2601 S. Elm Place in Broken Arrow. Attendance is free, but registration is required by noon Tuesday because space is limited.

Dr. Walter Lajara-Nanson, board-certified in both neurology and psychology, will speak on neuropsychiatric aspects of the disease as well as care for both caregiver and patient.

He has conducted extensive research in the field and is published in numerous medical journals.

The luncheon is sponsored by Kaiser Rehabilitation at Hillcrest, Boehringer Ingelheim, Medtronic, Silver Arrow Estates, Grace Hospice, Ipsen and Teva Pharmaceutical Works.

If I still lived in Tulsa, I wouldn't miss going to this luncheon. This is very important for all.
