Swine flu vaccine clinic to be held Saturday in Tulsa

A free walk-in clinic for the swine flu vaccine will be held 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Expo Square Exchange Center, health officials announced Wednesday.

The center is at 21st Street between Harvard and Yale avenues.

The swine flu vaccine, also known as the H1N1 virus, will be available to all children from 6 months to 18 years of age, pregnant women, frontline healthcare workers who have direct patient contact with the acutely ill, custodial parents of infants younger than 6 months of age, and adults ages 19 to 64 years of age with chronic medical conditions, health officials said.

Those seeking vaccinations are asked to enter the Expo area from 21st Street, then enter the Exchange Center on the west side of the building.

You may fill out paperwork ahead of time by downloading a vaccination form at tulsaworld.com/tulsahealth.

Remember to wear clothing that allows easy access to the arm for those receiving an injectable vaccine.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Church at Battle Creek, 3025 N. Aspen Ave., Broken Arrow

Thursday, Dec. 3, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tulsa Community College West campus, 7505 W.

41st St., Tulsa

Saturday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m. to noon, Oral Roberts University, 7777 S. Lewis Ave.

	Report Comment Kilgore.Trout, Tulsa (11/4/2009 3:20:52 PM) Wish all of the local bureaucrats had to go to the facilities they are giving shots at and stand in huge lines for hours. 9:00-12:00 at Expo Square? The genius with the county health dept. actually has the IQ of a shoe who dreamed that up!!! Your odds are higher that you will contact the flu while in that mob than getting a preventative vaccine.

My previous comments were made by a nitwit who didn't know any better;-) There were no lines and the Health Dept did an amazing job at moving people through the process. From the time you parked it was very smooth. Very courteous, nice, and professional people directed you through the innoculation. It was incredibly well organized. Great job Tulsa County Health Dept. Thanks to all the people who worked and volunteered to make it such a well run clinic!!!!!
