SEMINOLE — Law enforcement officials are investigating allegations that narcotics are missing from Medicus, the city-owned ambulance service.

An agent from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control opened an investigation Tuesday after receiving a tip about possible misuse of drugs, spokesman Mark Woodward said.

Woodward said he couldn’t comment further because the investigation was new and interviews with members of the ambulance company are ongoing.

Sources told The Oklahoman an inventory of Medicus drugs recently showed an unknown amount of Demerol and other drugs were unaccounted for.

You can find druggie's from all walk of life, including those that are there to help you in time of need.

Drugs the curse of the nation.

It's very easy to be in an emergency situation and forget to document drugs you have given. Funny how OBNDD agents think everyone is a drug addict and can shake people down and harass them over nothing but a "tip". I hope they don't find any Sudafed on the ambulance. The next headline you will see will be about a mobile meth lab ambulance....

Once again, MYVIEW, we agree on something! Drugs are the curse of our nation. They will eventually likely lead to the complete downfall of the USA, with a total breakdown of law and order. This statement is shocking, coming from me--a 'Liberal.'

Thank you GARFIELD, whether your left or right there is always common ground.

Drugs do just as much damage to both conservatives and liberals, no side is immuned.

I wonder if TPD bought them for resale out of their city vehicles.

It should not be that difficult to figure out. Every paramedic is charged with keeping records of what they used on patients. Give all of them drug tests.

Elusive - if it's been more than 3 or 4 days, drug testing will be too late. Also, who's to say that whoever stole the drugs actually USED the drugs? There's a HUGE market out there and folks will pay top dollar for INJECTABLE drugs.
