Dozens of children were unhurt after a school bus was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in Nowata County, authorities said.

The Oklahoma Union Public Schools bus was taking 27 students home about 3:40 p.m. when it was hit by the truck while turning onto Oklahoma 10 near Lenapah, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Kevin W. Stacy, 46, of Delaware, Okla. was not hurt when the 1991 Ford F250 crashed into the driver's side of the bus. The occupants in the truck were also unhurt, troopers said.

None of the students, who were between 7 and 10 years old, were injured.

The school district is based in South Coffeyville, a small town just south of the Kansas border.

How do you not see a big yellow school bus (turner sideways) in front of you? Glad to hear that nobody was hurt, but was the driver of the truck given a field sobriety test?
