NORMAN — Prosecutors have charged a University of Oklahoma chemistry department employee with three counts of felony arson in connection with fires on campus in September.
Susan Kathryn Lauterbach, 46, of Norman was released from the Cleveland County jail Tuesday after posting $5,000 bail, a county spokeswoman said. A pretrial conference is set for Dec. 1.
The fires were set Sept. 8, 10 and 11 in the chemistry annex on the Parrington Oval, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Tuesday with the charges. The first, set in a teaching assistant closet, caused about $13,000 in damage, filled the building with smoke and prompted an evacuation. The second was inside a recycling container in a hallway, and the third was inside a similar container in a stairway
Co-workers told investigators Lauterbach, who was in charge of lab safety and stockrooms, was upset about negative performance reviews and being stripped of job duties, including control over budget items, OU Fire Marshal Kevin Leach wrote in the affidavit. She was feuding with supervisors about the changes and what she said were safety hazards in the building.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to display vital info in a picture for publication. Her birthdate and birthplace should be private, shouldn't it? I don't know... just asking. Just seems like almost all a person would need to hack a social security number.

I guess she got their attention but took 3 fires to do it, little fire bug.

I don't think she has to worry about a passing grade any longer. Do you suppose her transcript will now read "incomplete".

She should have been wearing a respirator. See what can happen if you breath the fumes in a chemisty lab?
