Tulsa Public Schools announced Friday the dates of added H1N1 vaccine clinics for students and employees at 10 schools.

Pam Butler, director of health services for the school district, said the district is receiving shipments of vaccine from the state as well as from the Tulsa City-County Health Department.

"We were the only district in Tulsa County that requested any vaccine," she said.

"We are trying to help keep our kids as healthy as possible."

Vaccinations will be available only to enrolled students and employees at the selected sites.

Students ages 9 or younger will require a second vaccination 28 days after the first dose.

Tulsa Public Schools officials said two consent forms are required for students and employees to receive the vaccination.

They will soon be available for downloading online at tulsaworld.com/tps .

Maybe they will have doses of the vaccine left or get an additional supply and be able to offer the vaccine to additional schools.

interesting......low income schools are receiving vaccines. i wonder why? i guess they figure that if you are in a middle class school or zip code, you can afford to pay for the shot????? i guess i'll be calling pam to find out why.

The more school kids that get this vaccination the more protected the children will be whose parents opt out of getting the vaccine.

Some schools have dates scheduled in late January! Why is that??

It's about time but should include all schools, not just in Tulsa.

WHERE will students get their SECOND dose? Many have had the first vaccine and will need the second vaccine, but no one seems to know where they can get it or even IF it is going to be available. Will the providers return to those schools so ALL children who have had one dose can get the second dose? As I understand it from doctors, one dose does not protect the child. I know there are many parents who cannot get a child to a clinic outside of the school due to their work schedules, especially single parents!

Ohhh, that's it. Line your kids up for the Kool-Aid! It's funny how many of you think the State or even the Fed Government is responsible for vaccinating you kids...even if the vaccine is unproven...

And you wonder why this Country is in the mess that it is!

Here's an idea. Instead of whining about which Schools are going to get the Vaccine at which time and why this School got it before that school, get off your duff and go get your kids the vaccinated at a Clinic or other location!

You see, this is what happens when Sheeple sit back and want the Gov. to take care of them! HA!

Jenks elementary schools have already held vaccination clinics and the district announced that other schools will provide that service once vaccine is available. I'm not sure why TPS is claiming to be the only district offering the shots. I know Sand Springs had schools that were among the first to offer H1N1 vaccinations.

Sounds like TPS was behind.
