Election officials announce Tulsa school board filing dates

The Tulsa County Election Board has announced the filing dates for school board candidates in 14 area school districts and Tulsa Technology Center District 18.

Applications must be submitted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., on Dec. 7, 8 or 9 at the election board office, 555 N. Denver Ave.

The annual school election is Feb. 9. If no candidate receives more than half the vote, the two candidates with the most votes will meet in a second election on April 6.

School board positions to be filled are:

Tulsa Public Schools Election Districts 4 and 7, four-year terms; Berryhill, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Collinsville, Glenpool, Jenks, Liberty, Owasso, Sand Springs, Skiatook, Sperry, and Union, Office 5, five-year terms; Keystone, Office 2, three-year term; and Tulsa Technology Center District 18 Zone 1, seven-year term.

I hope so. I hope many get involved and run. When my school board district position comes up, I'm in it to win it for the students.
