OKLAHOMA CITY -- About 200 Palestinian supporters marched in front of the state Capitol at noon Monday urging the United States to take a neutral stand in the Mideast.

Protest leaders said innocent bystanders and children in the Gaza Strip were being killed. The marchers repeatedly shouted, "free, free Palestine."

Michael Abdulaziz-Gipson, a board member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Oklahoma Chapter, said the group is calling upon public officials and congressmen to stop the Israeli attacks and potential occupation of the Gaza Strip.

"We are asking the American public not to become desensitized," he said, noting that the general population is being forced to stay in their homes.

Rev. Andrew Tevington of the Church of the Servant in Oklahoma City and a United Methodist minister, called upon the Israelis and Palestinians to quit "illegitimately calling on the name of God" in this fighting.

"We call upon the U.S. to help both sides see there is a different way to do this," he said.

I don't know how effective it is to protest at the Oklahoma state capitol.

To the protestors...
Pack your crap up, go to Gaza and try to endure the suffering of the Palestinian people as they have over the past years. If you are not willing to suffer as they have then go home and sit on your arsh and shut up.
Some of you are American born and probably have never been to the Holy Land to understand what is going on over there. All you know is the hate that your family continues to spew. You can be part of the problem or part of the solution. Your protesting is neither one.

That protest would have been a real good place for some classic "resisting arrest" policies.

The protesters need to pack up and go back to their home countries and fight their own battles.
