OSBI plans to discuss Weleetka girls' murder
By Associated Press

State investigators are planning to discuss publicly the unsolved murders of two young girls who were found shot to death nearly a year ago along a dirt road in rural Okfuskee County.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown said law enforcement officials will hold a news conference Monday at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Okfuskee County Courthouse in Okemah.
Monday will mark the one-year anniversary of the brutal slayings of 11-year-old Skyla Jade Whitaker and 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker, who were childhood friends. No arrests have been made in the case.
Brown said Wednesday that officials have pursued hundreds of possible leads in their investigation and still believe someone knows who committed the crimes.

This is tragic indeed and needs resolution. Speaking of needing resolution, does anyone know what is going on about the shooting that happened between the young man and the former Bishop Kelly woman?

This one surprised me I really thought someone would be in jail by now. Lets hope that something turns up and the killer/ killers are brought to justice.

It's very disappointing that the murderer is still at large after such a crime.

Amen T-Town! Amen .. There is one almight power this perp/perps cannot hide from .. They may have eluded capture and punishment in the world form, but they will pay for this horrific crime. I still have the precious cartoon on my office wall of these two little girls holding hands and walking towards the light....God will bless these little ones for eternity!!

No kidding?
I can't help but think that whoever did it is not anywhere around. Because I don't think whoever did do it could keep their mouths shut and probably have talked about it but not anywhere near Okemah. Surely by now someone would have slipped up and said something if they were somewhere in Okemah.

T-TownJack,
I agree and hope they are caught soon. This is one of those cases that, if guilty, they should get a fair trial and a swift hanging.

You just dont get a case like this going cold without people in positions of authority making it so. Someone felt their secret was worth keeping even at the cost of the lives of children.

What happened to those two little girls was horrible.
Im thinking that its probably not someone from around that area, maybe just passing through or something.
Like Bullhead said someone would have slipped up by now.

It's horrible what happened to the girls. It's unacceptable that their murders were not solved and the guilty apprehended.
Everyone I knew in law enforcement predicted there would be no resolution as soon as the OSBI announced they were heading the investigation. The OSBI is a total joke!! They are a bunch of bumbling, lazy, good ol boys who cover the butts of corrupt police all over OK. Can't we contract with a branch of the FBI for some real investigators?
They should abolish & scrap the OSBI and reform the organization with a totally new organization and new personnel and leadership.

There is something very fishy about this case....the killer is probably close by.

...And possibly in a position of authority, having the ability to scuttle any meaningful investigation and evidence.
