NORMAN — Oklahoma added an offensive lineman Wednesday with the verbal commitment of Austin Woods from Texas’ Rockwall-Heath High School.

“I’ve taken a lot of visits and I’ve talked to a lot of coaches,” the 6-5, 290-pound center told Rivals.com, “and it just came down to where I felt the most comfortable and the tradition they have at OU.”

Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Texas Tech and Baylor were reportedly among Woods’ other college suitors.

Woods, who is the nation’s fifth-rated high school center according to Scout.com, is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to OU during the current recruiting period.

He joins Mustang’s Bronson Irwin and a pair of fellow Texans, Cedar Hill’s Adam Shead and Pflugerville’s Tyrus Thompson, among O-linemen who have pledged to sign with the Sooners next February.
