The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says James Hammett and Kenneth Wright, both 19, died at the scene of the accident, about 8:10 p.m. Thursday.

The patrol says the car driven, by Jeffrey Lindsey, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the tread on the vehicle's tires separated but didn't deflate. Troopers say the vehicle ran off the road, overturned and struck a tree, trapping Hammett and Mike Murrow in the wreckage.

The patrol says Lindsey was flown by medical helicopter to Norman Regional Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Abdallah Aljazzazi and Murrow were flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and both are in critical condition.
