Dog fighting raid sweeps through six states, including Oklahoma

A dog fighting raid Wednesday morning resulted in arrests and is expected to involve about 300 dogs, including Oklahoma dogs, according to the Humane Society of the United States.

It’s believed to be the nation’s largest simultaneous raid of multiple dog fighting operations.

Officers from numerous federal and state law enforcement agencies conducted the raid in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois and Iowa.

The names of those arrested and locations are not yet available, said Humane Society spokeswoman Jordan Crump.

	Report Comment Bodean, Tulsa (7/8/2009 8:23:16 PM) People who mistreat dogs in this fashion are the dregs of society. No one is lower. There should be on-going surveillance and "raids" every week until the message is clear: "We don't want this kind of activity in our midst".

I hope they publish the names and the kennels that participated soon. This kind of thing makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Poor babies.
