EAKLY — A suspect in the robbery of a bank in Eakley has been arrested.

The head of the FBI in Oklahoma, James E. Finch, says Robert Gene Pigg Jr., 26, of Hydro, was taken into custody in connection with Friday's robbery of the Bank of Hydro in Eakly.

Pigg was identified as a suspect based on a tip provided to the Hydro Police Department. Pigg was taken into custody at 5 p.m. Friday in Hydro by Hydro police officers, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the FBI.

The robbery occurred at about 1:30 p.m. when a man wearing a mask and armed with a rifle entered the bank and pointed a rifle at bank employees while demanding money. He was last seen in a white truck northwest of Eakly.
