79-year-old man sentenced to prison for having sexual contact with children

A 79-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to nearly six years in prison after pleading guilty to having sexual contact with two children.
Edward O’Field of Colcord was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Gregory Frizzell to be under court supervision for 10 years after his release from a five-year, 11-month prison term.
O’Field pleaded guilty April 3 in Tulsa federal court to intentionally touching two children sexually. The crimes occurred in “Indian Country” in Delaware County, establishing federal jurisdiction.
Plea documents indicate only that the two children were younger than 12 at the time of the illegal contact. However, Assistant U.S. Attorney Trent Shores said Tuesday that the two victims were 2 and 4 years old when they were touched inappropriately.
O’Field’s guilty plea pertained only to those two children, although Shores said evidence indicates that O’Field had molested at least seven children dating back to the early 1970s.

Just goes to show you how much we value children in this society. About one step above women. And I may have that going in the wrong direction.

I know you love your kids and I love mine, A3. But these sentences lately do not reflect society's respect for them. Thieves receive more time than this.

40 years of inappropriate sexual contact with children. That we know of. Let's just hope what time he serves amounts to the same as a life sentence.
