A 20-year-old Ketchum man died after wrecking his pickup Friday night in Mayes County.

Matthew Johnston was pinned for about two hours and was pronounced dead at the scene. He had an odor of alcohol on his breath, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Johnston was southbound on a county road east of Langley at about 10 p.m. Friday when his truck left the road. He overcorrected and went across the road, hitting two trees, according to the report.

The OHP report lists the cause of the wreck as unsafe speed that exceeded the legal limit.

My upmost sympathy to his family and friends. May he now be in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
