Man killed in Nowata County wreck

A South Coffeyville man was killed after his vehicle ran off the road in Nowata County. Dead is Dustin R. Shufeldt, 23, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Shufeldt crashed around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on a county road 15 miles north and three miles west of Nowata, according to the OHP.

While traveling westbound, Shufeldt failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a tree, troopers said, and he was pinned for around an hour.

It was not clear whether Shufeldt was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, troopers said.
