Tulsa man arrested after fatal stabbing

Tulsa police arrested a man late Saturday after he stabbed another man to death at during a McLain High School reunion.

Larry Dale Lewis, 49, was arrested just before midnight on suspicion of first degree murder, jail records show.

Police responded to the stabbing at Sax Martini Lounge, 606 S. Elgin Ave., at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday. The victim, Rodwick Clardy, was taken to St. John's hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses said the two men began fighting in the club when Lewis pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed the victim several times before running out the front door, according to an arrest report.

Lewis called 911 from his home to turn himself in, according to the report.

Lewis told police the victim had asked Lewis if he had tried to start a fight with him earlier at an apartment complex. Lewis said he hadn't, but later found the man and said the should step outside if there was a problem, according to the report.

The victim hit Lewis and took him to the ground. Lewis then began stabbing the victim, according to the report.

Lewis was in the Tulsa Jail on Sunday with no bond.
