BARTLESVILLE — The new Goody’s store — the latest in the line of retail outlets owned by Stage Stores — will hold its grand opening at 9 a.m. Thursday at Washington Park Mall.

The department store, located at 2350 S.E. Washington Blvd., is taking the name and the shopping space previously occupied by the now-defunct national retailer Goody’s, which closed its doors early this year.

Stage purchased the name of the previous clothing retailer and is opening stores in Bartlesville and Russellville, Ark., on the same day.

Grand opening specials will include a free, eco-friendly shopping tote given to the first 150 shoppers in the store, drawings to win fragrance sets and a $250 Goody’s gift card, officials of Stage Stores said.

Stage Stores operates 745 shops in midsize communities across 39 states selling apparel, fragrances, accessories and footwear. The retailer operates under the names Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage.

In addition to the new Bartlesville Goody’s outlet, a Stage store operates at Eastland Shopping Center, 512 S.E. Washington Blvd.
