A seven-months pregnant Tulsa woman was critically injured and lost her unborn child in a one-vehicle collision on the Turner Turnpike Friday.

Danielle Wells, 21, was transported to the OU Medical Center with head, trunk and internal injuries. Her unborn child was pronounced dead at the hospital, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

The collision occurred when a tire blew out on a 1996 Mazda MPV driven by James Howard McMillon III, 24, of Tulsa, traveling eastbound in Lincoln County.

McMillon, who was not injured, overcorrected and left the roadway. The vehicle rolled three times, ejecting Wells and 3-year-old Prince Antoney McMillon, 3, who was treated and released.

Only the driver was wearing a seat belt. The child’s car seat was not secured, the OHP said.
