A man was shot while inside a house by someone outside Wednesday evening, police said.

The man, whose name has not been released but who is 28 years old, was shot in his upper torso inside a house in the 1400 block of North Boston Place about 6:30 p.m., Tulsa Police Sgt. Michael Brown said.

The man was taken to St. John Medical Center in critical condition, Brown said.

Police believe that the bullet was fired at the house by someone outside, he said.

A child was in the house at the time of the shooting but was not injured, Brown said.

Information about the shooter was not immediately available.
