ORU faces lawsuit over office space

An athletic advertising agency has sued Oral Roberts University to retrieve $60,000 worth of computers and other supplies from an office space in CityPlex Towers.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in Tulsa District Court by Game On Advertising of Arkansas.

Game On bought the assets of Athletic Worth Advertising, which previously leased the CityPlex space. Game On’s purchase included the computers and office supplies still in that office space.

Athletic World Advertising had defaulted on its lease and ORU was granted possession of the office.

Game On alleges in the suit that ORU never responded to a request by the agency to enter the office and remove its property. It requests ORU be barred from selling or disposing of the computers.

According to court documents, ORU does not have any lien against the property.

ORU spokesman Jeremy Burton issued a written statement on behalf of the university Tuesday evening.

“ORU has taken appropriate legal action to recover judgment for possession of the office space as well as for unpaid rent,” he said. “ORU will continue to work through the legal system to resolve any remaining issues.” By SHANNON MUCHMORE World Staff Writer

You should always make sure property is clear free title before you buy something. The owners are wanting a quick buck and then to disappear. Game On is suing the wrong people and I'm sure a judge will tell them that in court. They need to file a new suit against Athletic Worth.
