U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe drew media attention last week for jumping into a Republican Senate primary in Florida and endorsing a lesser-known candidate over Gov. Charlie Crist, who is viewed as the candidate anointed by the GOP establishment.

The Oklahoma Republican said he endorsed former state House Speaker Marco Rubio over Crist because he believes the Florida Senate seat is a safe Republican win.

And, Inhofe said, he wanted the more conservative Rubio to be in the Senate next year.

"I predict a win," he said.

Candidate training speakers: Trait Thompson and Matt Pinnell of American Majority, a candidate training program, will be featured at the After Five Republican Women's Group, which meets at 6 p.m. Monday at Cowboy Sharkies, 5840 S. Memorial Road.

Meet the candidates in Pryor: A Republican "meet-and-greet" will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pryor Fairgrounds, 2200 North East First.

Those scheduled to attend include gubernatorial candidate Randy Brogdon, labor commissioner candidate Jason Reese and a representative of Mary Fallin's gubernatorial campaign.

Lobbying spending: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its subsidiaries spent $39 million on lobbying during the third quarter, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Is there not some way for us to rid ourselves of this nut case, Inhofe?

Let me see Senator Inhofe, what state were you elected in? What about Oklahoma's road money.

And you keep voting him in. Wake up he past his time. What was he thinking going to Florida. Maybe he will move to Florida.
