Delay investigations, Obama urges Congress

NORMAN — Army Spc. Jason Dean Hunt of Frederick was laid to rest on a breezy, overcast Saturday following a graveside service attended by scores of family, friends and soldiers.

They represented a small percentage of people who have honored Hunt and the 12 others killed by a gunman Nov. 5 at Fort Hood, Texas.

"He entered this world surrounded by a few family members but leaves surrounded by a nation," the Rev. Rocky Pettyjohn said at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.

An Army honor guard served as pallbearers at Hunt's services, and other soldiers from Fort Sill and Fort Hood also attended. Brig. Gen. Ross Ridge, commandant of the U.S. Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, was among those who spoke at the funeral. He presented folded flags to four of Hunt's closest relatives.

A framed portrait of Hunt with a few smaller photos, all surrounded by wide bordering with dozens of signatures, well wishes and condolences, was in place at the graveside service along with numerous floral

arrangements.

its sad that a extremeist like the colonel can be in our military and hold a position like his and the country look the other way..i think that have muslim beleifs should be watched more closely due to the state of current affairs....how many good people have to die before the nation wakes up to the fact that we are at war right here in the US..fighting the Talaban fighters that the U.S. has allowed to come into the country only to turn around and have a tragedy like this happen...i say that if the Muslim people want to come to this country they should vow to fight the injustice just like we do....not to plan to bomb the nations most likely targets...it good that this guy killed his self because i don't believe that he would have made it to trial...MUSLIMS GO BACK TO IRAQ where you belong

The guy did not kill himself, he was shot (4) four times twice by a young lady policewoman, and she herself was shot in both legs and hand.. the other policeman another SFC both from Killeen a town outside the Gates of Ft Hood, was never shot. He is the one that shot and brought down the Muslim "Major" who was BORN in the USA. To be more exact he was born in Virginia and was educa
ted in the USA since birth. BUT like you I agree, ALL should vow or promise to uphold all of our countries promises to uphold the Democracy we hold so dear and fight or even give our most dearest ... our very lives as I almost did in Viet Nam. Not all Muslim are or should be condemned, as in every race or religion, their are some bad apples as in fruits and everything else on God's planet or Universe., but we as Christians and a Democracy should defend all who live in this country whether White,Blue,Yellow,Brown, or even Black.. we are all equal and bleed the same colour or at least as I remember while in combat, we all even died the same or cried the same tears. Wake up America and blame those who are guilty and prosecute them without mercy, as someone (Clint*on Eastwood) said; I am fresh out of Mercy... I feel the same way for those who are such cowards as to kill or take human lives for no cause, or unarmed as our soldiors were in Ft Hood, I was also stationed there (3) three times in my career.

God Bless and Keep all our soldiors safe

Prayers for healing, emotional and physical go out to all the families involved in this terrible TERRORIST attack on the U.S. soil once again. If this can happen on the largest Army base in the world...where are we supposed to feel save? Obama needs to spit the word TERRORIST out and quit fooling around with words like 'the unfortunate incident'. Want to close down Gitmo and try those TERRORISTS here, this shooter should be first in line! Our soldiers are the lifeblood to freedom all over the world, and it is a shame they were subjected to this at home. Hoo Rah!
