Afghanistan: As of Thursday, at least 815 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department.

No new deaths were reported by the military.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

Army Spc. Brandon K. Steffey, 23, Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., died Sunday in Laghman province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device; he was assigned to the 178th Military Police Detachment, 89th Military Police Brigade, III Corps, Fort Hood, Texas.

Marine Lance Cpl. Cody R. Stanley, 21, Rosanky, Texas, died Wednesday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan; he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Seven soldiers died Tuesday in Arghandab Valley, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device; they were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash. Killed were:

Army Staff Sgt. Luis M. Gonzalez, 27, South Ozone Park, N.Y.

Army Sgt. Fernando Delarosa, 24, Alamo, Texas.

Army Sgt. Dale R. Griffin, 29, Terre Haute, Ind.

Army Sgt. Issac B. Jackson, 27, Plattsburg, Mo.

Army Sgt. Patrick O. Williamson, 24, Broussard, La.

Army Spc. Jared D. Stanker, 22, Evergreen Park, Ill.

Army Pfc. Christopher I. Walz, 25, Vancouver, Wash.

Iraq: As of Thursday, at least 4,353 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

The latest deaths reported by the military:

A soldier assigned to the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) died Wednesday of a noncombat related injury at Camp Adder, Iraq.

No new identifications were reported by the military.
