Stephanie Neiman was proud of her shiny new Chevy truck with the Tasmanian Devil sticker on it and a matching "Tazz" license plate.
Her parents had taught the teenager to stand up for "what was her right and for what she believed in."
Neiman was dropping off a friend at a Perry residence on June 3, 1999, the same evening Clayton Lockett and two accomplices decided to pull a home invasion robbery there. Neiman fought Lockett when he tried to take the keys to her truck.
The men beat her and used duct tape to bind her hands and cover her mouth. Even after being kidnapped and driven to a dusty country road, Neiman didn't back down when Lockett asked if she planned to contact police.
The men had also beaten and kidnapped Neiman's friend along with Bobby Bornt, who lived in the residence, and Bornt's 9-month-old baby.
"Right is right and wrong is wrong. Maybe that's what Clayton was so scared of, because Stephanie did stand up for her rights," her parents later wrote to jurors in an impact statement. "She did not blink an eye at him. We raised her to work hard for what she got."
Steve and Susie Neiman asked jurors to give Lockett the death penalty for taking the life of their only child, who had graduated from Perry High School two weeks before her death.
Lockett later told police "he decided to kill Stephanie because she would not agree to keep quiet," court records state.
Neiman was forced to watch as Lockett's accomplice, Shawn Mathis, spent 20 minutes digging a shallow grave in a ditch beside the road. Her friends saw Neiman standing in the ditch and heard a single shot.
Lockett returned to the truck because the gun had jammed. He later said he could hear Neiman pleading, "Oh God, please, please" as he fixed the shotgun.
The men could be heard "laughing about how tough Stephanie was" before Lockett shot Neiman a second time.
"He ordered Mathis to bury her, despite the fact that Mathis informed him Stephanie was still alive."
Bornt and Neiman's friend "were threatened that if they told anybody about these events, they too would be murdered," court records state.
"Every day we are left with horrific images of what the last hours of Stephanie's life was like," her parents' impact statement says.
"We were left with an empty home full of memories and the deafening silence of the lack of life within its walls. ... We feel that the only thing left to do is let Clayton Lockett serve out the sentence of death that a jury sentenced him to. Anything less is a travesty of justice."
Bornt wrote a letter Feb. 7 stating: "Clayton being put to death by lethal injection is almost too easy of a way to die after what he did to us. ... He will just be strapped to the table and will go to sleep and his heart will stop beating."
'A base instinct'
Madeline Cohen, an assistant federal public defender who has represented another inmate involved in the case, said she can understand why some people say defendants in murder cases should endure a painful death.
"Why should we give them a humane death when they didn't give their victim a humane death? I think that's a base instinct, but that is not what the Constitution provides. ... When we allow our government to take illegal and unconstitutional actions in our name, then all of our rights are jeopardized," she said.
Cohen has represented Charles Warner, scheduled to die April 29 for the rape and murder of his girlfriend's 11-month-old daughter, Adriana Waller, in 1997.
Attorneys representing Lockett and Warner have fought a legal battle on multiple fronts against the state's execution-secrecy law.
Defense attorneys argue the state should have to reveal the sources of its drugs and other details to ensure the inmates aren't subjected to cruel and unusual punishment.
"States have turned to secrecy in the face of drug shortages. It's a reaction to this combination of poorly experimental execution procedures and some frighteningly botched executions," Cohen said.
An Oklahoma County District Court judge ruled the state law allowing Oklahoma to withhold most information about execution drugs and procedures violates the state Constitution.
The state has appealed that ruling to the state Supreme Court, but Lockett and Warner may be executed before the appeal is considered.
The state Court of Criminal Appeals has refused to grant a stay, saying it can only consider such requests from inmates challenging their convictions before the court.
Attorney General Scott Pruitt's office said in an email the state will fight to defend the secrecy law because pharmacies must be protected from "threats of violence and political pressure."
In a letter to defense attorneys April 1, the state announced it planned to use a new combination of drugs to execute the men: midazolam, pancuronium bromide and potassium chloride.
Defense attorneys cite several cases in which inmates apparently experienced slow or painful deaths during executions.
"This drug regimen has never before been used to execute a prisoner, not only in Oklahoma, but anywhere in the United States," defense attorneys state in their request for a stay.
Cohen said protecting pharmacies should not be a reason for the state to "hide information" about the execution process.
"As far as the anti-death penalty activists, those people are trying to stop violence and killing," he said.
"They are mostly people of faith and conviction. The idea that they would threaten a pharmacist is hard to believe."
LaDonna Hollins, Lockett's stepmother, told an Oklahoma City television station last month her son deserved to be executed for his crimes but should not be made to suffer.
"I want to know what mixture of drugs are you going to use now. Is this instant? Is this going to cause horrible pain?" Hollins said.
"I know he's scared. He said he's not scared of the dying as much as the drugs administered."
Hollins told friends and relatives in a recent Facebook post: "The death penalty is to kill a man for his injustice ... by lethal injection not lethal suffocation."

Why is it that these animals can toture and kill helpless children but when it comes time for them to pay by execution, all i hear is how inhuman it is and how they will suffer.....they deserve to suffer, they werent thinking how the child they were hurting suffered...take what you give, feel what you made someone else feel...
Stupid people, Stop making excuses for these so-called humans not to die and suffer the way they chose to make some child suffer and die leaving thier familys broken hearted, hurting, wandering why...

Unfortunately, not only in the United States even potential criminals be punished elements in an unusual or even cruelly. Here, for example, potentiele small - Kriminäle be regular and mass clandestine manner with administration of corticosteroid hormones and the deliberate Infezierungen geliegt lamb. So, seems to us a quelsame killing as a retaliation for a cruel murder somehow, according to EU standard, reasonable.

I've been reading all the comments and I'm trying to understand why everyone is playing race into this issue when it was a about just a man who was a murderer and a thief who had no regards at all for a young woman's life. For those of you who are so concerned with how he suffered stephanie should be the focus of this and that's who you should be concerned with. She certainly didn't get 15 yrs worth of appeals b4 he took her life. Where's the outrage for her? I believe in the death penalty but I think they need to make a few changes starting with how the kill someone on death row, it shouldn't be as simple as a lethal injection, however a murderer dishes it out is exactly how they should die, if you shoot a person you should be shot, if you shot a young woman and bury her alive, well then you should be shot and buried alive, if you rape, beat and murder someone well then that's how you die. To me that would serve justice and maybe if people knew whatever cruelty they bestowed upon some then they would recieve the same cruel and callus act as punishment, well it might make someone think twice before acting. It really is what they deserve isn't it? On another note I am a white woman and when I moved back here twenty years ago from the west coast and I had friends of all colors and i couldn't believe how the people here were and the racism I saw, I was at my husbands grandmothers house and she was speaking about a black person and called them the "N" word, my jaw dropped to the floor and I almost fell out of my chair, I had never heard anyone call a black person that and it absolutely disgusted me especially coming out of the mouth of a 90yr old woman, but it didn't seem to bother anyone else, I couldn't help but think I had moved to the twilight zone and I had. The real meaning of the "N" word is a stupid or ignorant person which I find amusing since I've known more white people that qualify to be called that than I ever had black people, especially since moving to Oklahoma. You don't judge a book by its cover and you shouldn't judge a man that way either. If your going to judge someone shouldn't you at least be smart enough to know people are who they are on the inside, that's what makes a man a man and unfortunately Locket was an evil man who should have been shot and buried alive as her family got to stand over him and laugh, just like he did his victim. It shouldn't matter if your white, black brown, green, purple or pink, Real justice is an eye for an eye and you get it how you gave it. And I'd bet stephanie would agree 110%, I'm sure her family does!

I am absolutely ok with how this sleaze went out. I certainly don't wish suffering on anyone, but his victim suffered and he didn't care--shot her twice and buried her alive? I am not going to waste any sympathy on his death. I guess karma does exist.

I guess the statistics regarding capital punishment in Oklahoma speak for themselves (see below). The botched execution of Mr. Lockett literally was more likely to happen to a white death row inmate than an African American one, so as i said, perhaps "karma" intervened where Mr. Lockett is concerned because I believe the old adage says, "You reap what you sow.". Once again, I use the facts to prove my point. These statistics were pubished in this very paper just a few days after Mr. Lockett was executed. May G-d have mercy on his soul.......

I take great offense to being called, "you people," when you were referring to people of caucasian descent. Had I used the same comment it would be deemed racist in origin, so your post starts with hypocrisy and end with ignorance, plain and simple.
You also stated, "Although white people brought us here, raped our women, killed our children and dismembered our mens private parts, with no care in the world. First of all Caucasians are the number one killer in the world. You people have enslaved almost every race in the world, and have no regrets on the way you brainwashed american blacks for 200 years to come....." which clearly shows that you have been indoctrinated with a biased "victim" mentality of history. The facts speak for themselves. I am posting the links for two articles written by two highly esteemed and respected authors (one Caucasian and one African American, so I won't be accused of racism) who are considered to be authorities on the African slave trade. Perhaps you should educate yourself instead of showing your ignorance on the subject. Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow.

Since I am quite sure, that your indoctrination runs deep and you will never do any more research, let alone read some of the documented information in the links I so thoughtfully provided, allow me to rehash the truth about slavery based on verifiable facts....
The indoctrinated thinking you have shown is demonstrated every year in our schools when school children learn about the horrors of the slave trade during Black History Month, every though Caucasians are not provided a "White History Month." . Every aspect of the slave trade is dissected and Caucasian children are left in no doubt that slavery was the fault of their ancestors and something to feel deeply ashamed of and yes, these words are dripping with sarcasm......But should Caucasian people feel guilty about the slave trade? Is the role of our ancestors in slavery, and indeed the role of the White race in the trade as a whole, uniquely evil, something without parallel and something that we should atone for in perpetuity? Slavery is one of the oldest trades known to man. All races and all civilizations have practiced it: China, India, Arabs, Africa and in the Americas. All peoples have made slaves of their own and enslaved other peoples. And White Europeans are no exception. Julius Caesar was said to have enslaved one million White Gauls for the Roman Empire. In fact, the word “slave” comes from the word “Slav”, a name that came to be used because the Slavic people were a favourite choice for Mongol, Khazar, Arab and indeed White slave traders.
And we, "Americans" have enslaved our own people too. Most people reading this essay will have had ancestors who were slaves (think indentured servants, hundreds of thousands of American Indians, and immigrants of all races fresh off the boat who have come to live the "American Dream" who end up dying in an industrial sweat shop.) The Anglo-Saxons made slaves of the Ancient Britons and the Anglo-Saxons were in turn enslaved by the invading Danish Vikings. When Oliver Cromwell conquered Ireland in the middle of the 17th century, he sent over 100,000 men, women and children to the West Indies to be sold into slavery. The Muslims were perhaps the world’s biggest enslavers, an estimated 19 million people becoming the victims of Islamic slavery. Their slave trade ran for far longer than that of the Europeans. Muslims enslaved both Black African and White European alike.
Africa itself also had its own domestic and international slave trade long before the appearance of the Europeans. Most African societies did not recognize private property in land so slaves often acted as one way in which individuals could own means of profitable production. Enslavement was often a by-product of localised warfare where the vanquished became the slaves of the victors. Africans also SOLD their OWN people amongst themselves and to others as well. Caravan routes had long linked sub-Saharan Africa with North African and indeed the wider Mediterranean and the Middle East, so Africans used this route to establish a trans-Saharan slave trade. When the White man came, there was already a large scale African slave trade in existence that was then adapted to the European market. It did not have to be created for him. But for some reason, the fact that all races have practiced slavery throughout history is never mentioned in our schools or promoted in the media. There are no calls for Muslims to apologise to Europe for their involvement in the much longer and much bigger North African slave trade. No films are made about it in Hollywood. The French do not ask for reparations from Italy for the million of their ancestors sold into slavery by Caesar.
So perhaps the Atlantic slave trade, the enslavement of mainly West African Blacks by White Europeans, is a special case. Maybe there is something unique about it that warrants the high profile place that it has in our society. Perhaps we should feel guilty about this particular slave trade after all. To engage in the slave trade, you obviously need slaves. So how did White Europeans acquire their slaves in the first place? The image usually promoted is of ships of White slave traders pulling ashore in Africa, storming a local village and violently kidnapping the inhabitants to sell on as slaves. The reality, however, is much less dramatic. But what is shocking is how the truth of the matter is never discussed and is airbrushed from the history lessons. The truth is that the overwhelming majority of Black African slaves were sold to the White slavers by Black Africans themselves.
The notion of White slavers establishing themselves in Africa and carrying out raids on villages is simply not feasible. Europeans were highly prone to the many diseases present along the West African coast such as Malaria, dysentery and yellow fever. Attempts to make a base in Africa for any amount of time would have left them open to severe ill health and seriously threatened their lives. Africa was not known as the “White man’s grave” for nothing. In this environment, the Europeans were very rarely able to get the upper hand, so they were usually very much junior partners to the African rulers, merchants and middlemen who were already established in the slave trade along the West African coast. African empires that had been established before the coming of the White man, such as Dahomey and Ashanti (located in modern day Benin and Ghana) were able to use the slave ports at Ouidah and Elmina to make massive profits and become extremely powerful thanks to the trade in their fellow Africans. African slave traders discouraged Europeans from entering into the interior of Africa because they themselves wanted to supply the slaves and thus maximise their profits. The European slavers were happy to go along with this because it was much cheaper, and held less risk of disease, than attempting to find the resources to capture the many slaves they needed themselves. It was much easier to give the Africans guns with which they could fight the wars between themselves that ensured such a rich supply of slaves.
There must also be another important distinction drawn regarding slavery: those involved in the slave trade were not ordinary Britons, but were all extremely wealthy international merchants and capitalists, who became even more wealthy via the slave trade. Is it fair or right to blame the ordinary inhabitants of this country for the actions and deeds of a bunch of morally unscrupulous profit-seeking businessmen? The reason Europeans came to Africa in the first place was because even though it was so far away and, because of the diseases, such a risky venture, the profits to be made were enormous. But if the Africans involved in the slave trade had truly wanted to stop their brothers being sold as slaves, there wouldn’t have been much the Europeans could have done about it.
A concerted resistance by Africans would most probably have seen off the Europeans. If the African slavers had left their slave ports and gone back into the interior of Africa to defend their people, the cost of trying to tame a hostile population would have seen the profits of the White slavers evaporate and so they would have had to look elsewhere for their cheap labour. Another myth is that the African elite didn’t resist slavery because they saw it as futile in face of superior European firepower. European military technology wasn’t advanced enough to allow them unlimited access to Africa, at least not until the 19th century, decades after slavery had begun and in the century when it ended. They didn’t resist because they didn’t want to resist. They, like the White Europeans, were driven by greed. The European slave trade wasn’t unique. What was unique is that Europeans abolished slavery. The first European country to put an end to their involvement in slavery was Denmark, which outlawed the institution in 1803. Britain herself banned the slave trade, but not actual slavery itself, in 1807. When the Slavery Abolition Bill 1833 came into force on 1 August 1834, slavery was finally abolished throughout the whole of the British Empire. The United States was a much younger country but had several slavery ending pieces of legislation: Slavery was made illegal in the Northwest Territories in 1787; in 1808 Congress banned the importation of slaves from Africa; in 1820 the Missouri Compromise bans slavery north of the southern border of Missouri; more legislation is passed regarding the banning of slavery with the Compromise of 1850; and the Emancipation Proclamation is issued in 1863, ending all slavery by 1865.( Funny how they never teach our children any of this in public schools and any never learn it unless they have a deep interest in history and invest time in pursuing it when they seek higher education, only to be rewarded with a useless degree.)
The focus on the white man's role in the slave trade is always on how evil we were for being participants. Of course, slavery is abhorrent and the Atlantic slave trade was no different. But what is not usually examined with as much gusto is the massive part many caucasian people played in bringing the slave trade to an end. There were heavy fines for any slaves found aboard an American ship and to dissuade other countries from attempting to continue the trade, they declared that slavery was tantamount to piracy and thus carried the death penalty. British and American ships set up a naval blockades to stop the transportation of slaves from West Africa to the Americas. Many thousands of slave ships were detained during the decades the blockade was in operation. A Royal Navy Lieutenant called Patrick Forbes estimated in 1849 that during a period of 26 years, 103,000 slaves were set free thanks to a naval blockade. Some of the biggest opponents of slavery were the African rulers themselves. Far from being relieved that no more of their countrymen would be taken by slaver traders, they were deeply unhappy that they would no longer enjoy the wealth that they had earned from selling slaves and collecting taxes from slaves passing through their domains. With the passing of the anti-slavery legislation, it effectively ended their livelihood. There were even delegations sent to London and Washington D.C. by African chiefs to protest about the abolition of the slave trade. One African, outraged that slavery was on the verge of extinction, insisted that his “oracle and priests” had told him that their god totally agreed with slavery. According to his divine sources, so did the Christian and Muslims gods as well. So the slave trade carried on in many parts of Africa long after Americans abolished it. If there was demand for the slaves in the Americas, the supply from Africa would always be there. Although, Navy blockades stopped some slave ships, many more slipped through the net and managed to transport their cargo to the Caribbean and Latin America. In fact, strenuous efforts to suppress the trade pushed up the price of slaves in Latin American countries, making the trade more profitable than ever. White Europeans and Americans were far from being the only culprits in international slavery. Perhaps it is the sheer scale and numbers of slaves involved in the Atlantic slave trade that is the reason why the white race is constantly called on to atone for our sins whilst other slaving peoples are overlooked? Yet again, the truth is distinctly at odds with promoted dogma. The Atlantic slave trade was in operation for around four centuries and involved about 10-12 million Black slaves who were brought to the Americas. But the biggest traders in Black slaves were not White Europeans but Islamic Arabs.Between 650AD and 1900AD, Muslims enslaved between 11-18 million Africans, who were sold across the Red Sea, Indian Ocean and the Sahara Desert. This figure is far in excess of the numbers of Black slaves transported to the Americas by White Europeans.Within the Muslim world, in contrast to Christian Europe and America, there was never any organized movement opposing slavery and calling for its abolition. Also different was the fact that around 80% of all those captured by the Muslim slave trading groups died before even reaching the slave markets to be sold. Not to mention that the gender ratio of those captured was completely at odds: two thirds of slaves who went across the Atlantic were men, while the same ratio that went to the Middle East and the Islamic world were women. And it wasn’t just Black Africans who were enslaved by the Muslims. Between the 16th and 19th centuries, Muslim pirates called Corsairs from the Barbary Coast in North Africa raided ships and villages in the Mediterranean and Atlantic enslaving its white inhabitants. Any sailors travelling in the Mediterranean, or villagers living along the shores in places like Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and even England and Ireland, faced the real prospect by of being captured and made slaves by the Muslim Corsairs and taken to Barbary Coast cities like Algiers and Tunis and being sold as slaves. From 1530 and 1780, between 1 million to 1.25 million White Europeans were enslaved in this manner by the Muslims. And their lives were just as pitiful as their African counterparts, being forced to work in quarries and heavy construction but mostly as galley slaves rowing the Corsair crafts themselves. While we hear countless tales of the woes that befell the Black slaves that were brought to America, there is another group of people who were also enslaved in this new country, and indeed in Britain and the West Indies and who, in many respects, suffered more hardship than their Black counterparts. Their part in the history of slavery is little known, or perhaps more accurately, conveniently forgotten.
From the start of the 17th century to the early 19th century, between one half and two thirds of all the White colonists who came to the New World came as slaves. They were owned as property, were accorded no rights and had no recourse to the law. Laws relating to fugitive Black slaves also applied to them. Most books on White labor in early American history referrer to these people as “indentured servitude” or “bondservants.” The reality, however, is that the conditions these people lived and worked under should more properly be termed as permanent slavery unto death. The papers allowing the enslavement, termed indentures, were often forged by kidnappers and press-gangs. The owner of the indentured worker had the right to increase the length of the term of indenture, in reality making it a life sentence, on the flimsiest of excuses. The “indentured worker” had no say in the matter. Although these people are not called “slaves” today, perhaps for political rather than historical reasons, people at the time had no qualms about using the word to describe these people. In the Calendar of State Papers, Colonial Series, America and West Indies of 1701, there is a passage that tells of a protest over the “encouragement to the spiriting away of white men, women, and children, without their consent and selling them for slaves, which hath been a practice very frequent and known by the name of kidnapping.” In the British West Indies, plantation slavery had begun as early as 1627. In Barbados by the 1640’s there were an estimated 25,000 slaves; 21,700 of these slaves were White. The word “kidnapping” itself comes from the expression “kid-nabbing”, which referred to the practice of abducting children to be sold to become labor in the factories or into plantation slavery in America. Another phrase that has its roots in White slavery is “spirited away” because White slavers that kidnapped fellow Whites were called “spirits.” A period newspaper, The Argosy, reported in 1893 that “”Few, but readers of old colonial state papers and records, are aware that between the years 1649 to 1690 a lively trade was carried on between England and American "gentry" and the plantations, as the colonies were then called, [a trade] in political prisoners… they were sold at auction… for various terms of years, sometimes for life, as slaves.” The situation of the White slaves in the New World echoed that of the conditions of the swear shop worker during this period. Their legal form of contracted indentured servitude was little better than common slavery. Immigrant children were routinely taken from orphanages and workhouses to be put in factories for a lifetime of horrors. They often worked 16-hour days of unceasing toil, without a break. If they dared to fall asleep at their machines, they were whipped awake. For committing crimes such as arriving late or talking during work, they were beaten with a “billy-roller,” an eight feet long by one and a half inch diameter iron bar. The primitive machines in the factories mutilated thousands of children each year. Often disabled for life by these accidents, they were simply turned out onto the street. What must also be considered is that when these “free” workers didn’t have enough food to eat, they simply starved. Their bosses didn’t care if they lived or died or about the conditions they lived in. There was an endless supply of workers from the local area who could and would replace them. Black slaves in America, however, were an investment for the slave owner. He had paid for them so it was in his interests to insure that his investment was kept functional. This meant that in terms of diet, health and shelter, Black slaves in America were often better off than White “workers” in the north of America and actually far better off than workers in much of industrialised Europe.
The reason, or at least the official reason, that Whites today are made to feel such guilt over the Atlantic slave trade is because of the “Sins of the Father” scenario. The thinking behind this mode of thought is that because our forefathers committed such a heinous act, then it is our duty, collectively, to recognise that act and work towards repairing the damage that was caused to the victims of that act. Yet it is only the sins of White fathers that are recognized when the subject of slavery is examined. And examined it most certainly is. In the annual ritual ceremony of hair-shirt wearing called Black History Month, Caucasian children are made to look, in front of their Black and Muslim classmates, at how wicked and evil their ancestors were and it is explained to them in no uncertain terms that this guilt can never be washed away. Of course, the sins of the father philosophy is simply a ruse. Our children are being psychologically abused by our education system because it furthers the political ideology of the Liberal-Left establishment. If one doubts this, then why aren’t African-American schoolchildren told during Black History Month the truth about how their forefathers have equal blood on their hands through their organized trading in their own brothers? Or Islamic children forced to write essays on how their ancestors were the biggest slavers in the history of the world? Why aren't all children taught about the slavery that their ancestors suffered at the hands of other people and at the hands of their own? Why do we not celebrate the fact that ancestors of the Caucasian children abolished the slave trade, while the forebears of their Black and Muslim classmates were busy fighting tooth and nail to keep the institution alive? If it had have been Muslims and not Europeans who had abolished the slave trade, this would be the focus of much celebration and fanfare. It is only Caucasian children who are systematically stripped of their dignity and self-worth and made to loathe their history and their people. Only Caucasian children are publicly humiliated in such a way; only Caucasian children are brainwashed into becoming cowed and rootless citizens, sculpted whilst young to accept all the dictates of the ideology of mass immigration and multiculturalism when they become adults.
The truth is that the American people today bear no responsibility, either collectively or individually, for slavery. We should feel no guilt and we have nothing to apologize for.....The only people who are owed an apology is the generation of White schoolchildren who have been deliberately taught to hate themselves and their people by sick and twisted individuals in pursuit of an equally sick and twisted Liberal-Marxist ideology.
Now that the "real history" has been brought to light on this thread, it's time to move on to the subject at hand. The botched execution of Clayton Lockett. As for Clayton Lockett, I am sorry the man had to be a human test subject for the State of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Big Pharma, and a Governor with an enormous political agenda, but again, perhaps he should have considered the repercussions when he murdered Stephanie Neiman in cold blood. Perhaps karma is more real than you choose to believe, after all you state that G-d is the only one who should judge and I believe Romans 12:9 says, "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." So in the end, when Mr. Lockett's execution was botched, it truly was "an eye for an eye." He buried Stephanie Neiman alive and I am quite certain her death was as horrifying to her as Mr. Lockett's was to him. Perhaps if he had considered the consequences of his actions or if Mr. Lockett had been raised properly instead of with an entitlement complex, we wouldn't have had this discussion at all. For the record, nine Caucasians and a Thai woman, were the subjects of a recent article on ten of the worst botched executions...(http://listverse.com/2013/02/04/10-horrifically-botched-executions/) so race should play no part in this discussion at all. I cannot understand why anyone would blame a race of people for their ancestor's enslavement and then launch into a rant about how the white man is the source of all the African American population's problems. Perhaps it's time to become acquainted with the concept of "personal responsibility" instead of adopting a victim's mentality over something that happened to YOUR ancestors by people (who were not all white) who aren't alive to answer for their crimes. How long can one feel entitled over something they never experienced and have never been properly educated about? It doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes a parent. The government plays far too large a role in our daily lives, yet when a tragedy occurs during an execution, no one benefits, just like the people of this country (no race need be mentioned for it includes all people who are educated by the "State") are indoctrinated to believe that they have "no responsibility with regards to the responsibilities of truly being a "free" man or woman. There's an interesting documentary by the BBC called "How To Kill A Human Being", they research a bunch of methods and come to the conclusion that nitrogen asphyxiation is probably the best choice for a state that wishes to keep the death penalty but apply it in as humane a manner as possible. In conclusion, I should state that I am not a racist of any kind. I am an equal opportunity bigot. I hate ignorance in all its forms and the sugar coated political correctness that is shoved down our throats day in the name of "equality." Hopefully, Ms. Carey, you are as offended by my response as I was by yours.....the difference is that I let logic and the facts shape my response instead of repeating bullsh*t programmed into you from years of being told that "the man" is keeping people of African descent enslaved when the only thing truly enslaving ANY person is their own thoughts and beliefs, spouting ignorant pseudo-history that comes from being unable to separate an emotional rant from reality does nothing more than reflect badly on your own refusal to self-educate yourself on the facts of multiple issues and ideologies. Just remember that the revelation of thought takes men out of servitude and into true freedom. Instead of blaming others for your (and a specific race's) misfortunes, break the cycle. Knowledge is power.

Don't be angry with "white folk", Chrystal. It's only out of desperation an il fated attemp for self preservation that they cling to their archaic ideology. For they know better than us (and just as Mendel proved) white is a weak and recessive gene, and it's only a matter of time before they will be eradicated from this earth. I personally encourage every man of color to to do his part (It should be every black man's civic duty) to impregnate as many white women as possible

Chrystal let me highlight something in all of this: YOU SAID ANCESTORS. I did not hurt YOU or anybody in your family. This had nothing to do with color. To bring it up is ignorant, and then to throw white people are the most murderous group of individuals is ignorant. You don't know me, I don't know you and my ancestors did nothing to yours. Never in the history of my family was slave ownership an aspiration. As a matter of fact my family settled in Maine and NH which makes me a yankee. The same yankees that fought to abolish slavery. I hate how the fact that men went out in the field to die to free black people because they knew it was wrong is looked over or not cared about. What about my ancestors that died or were injured trying to ensure freedom for your ancestors? Don't say "well they should have fought." because they did not know your ancestors therefore they had no obligation to protect them, they just fought for what was right. So enough with the injustice. Your comment was the most rude and ignorant one left. Your no better than the reverend who jumps on his high horse to condemn people who are fighting for actual equality because he feels it is a detriment to his race, when in actuality it ensures equality (Rev Al Sharpton he makes a lot of money sticking up for the African Americans weird how race is his golden ticket huh?)
As for Locket and Warner, they should suffer. How do you think that 11 month old felt when she had a grown man inside her? How do you think Stephanie felt after being shot, laid in a grave and buried. What do you think have dirt inhaled into your lungs feels like? How would you like that to be a loved ones final moments?

This has nothing to do with segregation. Although white people brought us here, raped our women, killed our children and dismembered our mens private parts, with no care in the world. First of all Caucasians are the number one killer in the world. You people have enslaved almost every race in the world, and have no regrets on the way you brainwashed american blacks for 200 years to come ( Willy Lynch) and wonder why this is going on. Only god should say who should die, he forgives everyone. Let the person with no sin cast a stone! Everyone on this blog has lied stolen fornicated or whatever else, so you cannot act like your not as bad as a thief or murderer. Everyone. (Black or white) The state of Oklahoma decided Lockett should be put to death, because he broke the law. With that being said the State of Oklahoma needs to follow the law also. This is not about Lockett, but about our state doing things that are against the constitution. If we let our government (Federal also) break constitutional rights, we will have more of a problem than a murderer's heart attack. Just like Lockett should follow the law, Mary Fallin/ The State of Oklahoma should to. I don't know about anyone else, but the Government continues to mess with things they shouldn't. White folks remember, we built this country and still get treated like nothing. The justice system also never orders the death penalty when a black person is killed by another. Every life is important, so stop being racist and look at the bigger picture! African-Americans also did not ask to be here, for segregation or all the unfair treatment. Especially since most of us are hardworking citizens who PAY TAXES like everyone else. Although, we get racially profiled and badgered for no reason at all, on a daily basis.

2. Where did I claim that this guy should not have been put to death?
3. The bible says to forgive others or you will burn for eternity. Plain and simple.
Surprise! The bible is full of contradictions, but most Christians dismiss the Old Testament commands and embrace the New Testament.
Why are you so trusting of our justice system? Have you ever researched the innocence rate of people on death row? Are you aware that people get wrongly convicted of crimes, a lot? Clayton Lockett is at peace now. He doesn't have to deal with his crime, no emotional pain for him. Do you like your hard earned tax dollars to go towards feeding these inmates who are just waiting to die? Executing someone does nothing to fix the problem besides giving a few family members the feeling of sweet revenge.
The whole hate and revenge mentality is embraced by Christians who are taught the exact opposite. It makes no sense and the whole purpose of my comment was to bring that hypocrisy to light.

Well, now we know it did hurt. And I'm thinking, how ironic after reading this article. I was looking up what he did. Did he deserve the pain? I think he did. I always wonder why we have to treat these murderers so humanely when they treated their victims so cruelly. But then, we have to think about the officers who administer the death warrant.

Hi Don,
Lincoln was against slavery, however proposed that blacks be resettled in other countries other than here. That was pretty segregationist. I don't know of any black person that thinks he shouldn't be executed. For some reason the people on this blog think they're superior to everyone else. You refuse to acknowledge that there are a lot of white people who commit heinous crimes also. Because there are a lot of white people in prison should I assume every other white person is a criminal. You shouldn't judge all black people because of the actions of other black people. While Whites "forgive" this mammy is complaining that her murderous sprog possibly was "Anxious". Looking for a ghetto lottery payout. One more turn at the Wheel.
In Atlanta last ALL the murders were caused by blacks. You can't bring up children around this, they will be taken from you. Whites flee, till the town goes like Detroit and collapses.

Anyone who blatantly disrespects life so much that they will take it away from someone over a vehicle doesn't need to be breathing our oxygen. I'm only speaking to the hypocrisy of Christians wishing revenge on this man, I'm not claiming the constitution to be hypocritical. Don't you find it interesting that bible believing christians would feel this way? Despite what the constitution says?
Do you think we should add to the bible:
"But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins, unless the US constitution says otherwise."
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; unless they are murderers."
The government might appear to be separated from the church (hardly) but why do you think that means Christians are to value the constitution over the bible?

an Oklahoma inmate writhing and clenching his teeth on the gurney Tuesday, leading prison officials to halt the proceedings before the inmate's eventual death from a heart attack.
Clayton Lockett, 38, was declared unconscious 10 minutes after the first of the state's new three-drug lethal injection combination was administered. Three minutes later, though, he began breathing heavily, writhing, clenching his teeth and straining to lift his head off the pillow

Most of us can think of many quick and lethal methods to carry out their death sentences.
Regardless of the method used, the execution of murders is likely to be much kinder than what was experienced by any of their victims.
I'm fine with keeping them locked up the rest of their nasty lives or putting them to death when there is no doubt that they are guilty.
I can't imagine the pain the girl's parents have experienced. Losing their only child is horrific enough, but knowing how she died has to be emotional torture.

Many arguments are brought forward by humanists who think that the death penalty is barbaric.
They claim that capital punishment is "inhumane and unworthy of a civilized society" and that it is useless as a deterrent.
Some lawmakers even argue that society actually loses more than it gains when it puts a man to death and point to rehabilitated murderers as proof.
It is argued that the law is not infallible and that it is always possible for a mistake to be made and an innocent man executed in error.
It is claimed that most serious offenses are committed by those suffering from mental illness or are impulsive in character.
It is urged that those executed for capital offenses are usually the poor, the ignorant and the unfortunate.
It is maintained that life imprisonment is sufficient protection for society from the menace of murder.
All these arguments are put forward in favor of abolishing the death penalty. They all overlook the basic issue...the sacredness of human life in the sight of God. It is a divine decree that has never been rescinded that when a person murders another person, the criminal must pay for his crime with his own life. Moderrn solutions to the problem of crime do not seem to be working too well when all the facts are in...

It was good to be reminded of what the victim looked like, the age that this young woman will be forever and ever. We don't need to add glory to a murder by publishing his photo again and again. He is getting his last legal challenge, one that will further clog a crowded legal system. That is recognition enough for this animal.
May his death bring some level of peace to the Neimans. May his death take one more person from this earth that is capable of robbing and killing innocent people.
