WAGONER — A Wagoner Public Schools teacher was jailed Monday on allegations that she showed up at school under the influence of alcohol and without her pants, police said.

Lorie Ann Hill, 49, was booked into the Wagoner City Jail on a public intoxication complaint.

Wagoner school officials contacted police about 9 a.m. Monday after Hill was described as being disoriented and without pants, Police Chief Bob Haley said.

Hill was interviewed by police officers, and it was determined that she had been drinking, he said.

“She was found in a room kind of disoriented," Haley said. "By the time we got there she was in a room and wearing shorts.”

Haley said Hill was recently hired by the school district.

Classes start in Wagoner on Thursday.

You know Mark, you are probably right! Alcohol impacts every organ in your body with the liver and pancreas that take the most impact.

I realize this is funny and incomprehensible for many however, I see this a little bit differently because I too am an alcoholic. This women, because of her illness of alcoholism did something totally bizarre and baffling! Her addiction caused her to drink at work because she is physically addicted to vodka and unable to stop. No same person would ever put themselves in such a place of incomprehensible demoralization and extreme humiliation! But an untreated alcoholic who has lost all control in drinking would, not on purpose. I feel really bad for this women and pray that she has finally reached her bottom. She cannot do this alone she must get help or she will not be able to stop drinking and things will get progressively worse and eventually she will die. I just wanted to comment from a different perspective and hope some of you who read this may be able to have a little compassion for her and pray for her, she is in desperate need of God's grace!

I think she has a medical problem. She should get a checkup for the fluid buildup asap. Maybe liver disease.

Well, maybe she got to thinking about some of the kids she would have in her class this year and decided to get a head start on that nerve calming juice.

I have a credible source that has stated Mrs. Hill worked at BA public schools last year and was terminated for the same reason.
I cannot prove or disprove this information but it might be worth investigating.
If the info is correct; how was she able to clear a background check and reference from her previous employer?
I guess it is a good thing they found out now what kind of person they hired. Someone may not have done a good job doing the background on this woman. Probably the same one who didn't realize he hired a child molester to drive the Wagoner bus!

Being a week early to start classes is kind of a record, right?

    Being pantless...is just a bonus.

Gordon, you might want to check the state law on DUI arrest and the difference between sitting still in a vehicle rather than driving down the road. Called actual physical control.

Sometimes it's just almost impossible to make this stuff up. But leave it to someone, and eventually it will take place.

The best reason to teach in OK is not the pay, it's the relaxed dress code.

    Hello?
    Hello.
    May I help you?
    Yes.
What is the nature of your call?
Oh... just a sec. Nature IS calling!
    Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?
    Hello.
How may I direct your call?
I (burp) need to speak with uhhhh...... let someone know.... I won't be able to come to work today. I'm calling in drunk...err... sick. (falls off chair)
    Did you say drunk?
    Did I?
    Yes. Yes, you did.
I ummmm can't come to work today. I think it's... I think it's... against the law to drink and drive. (Burp) And... I don't want to do-o-o-o-ooo ....tha.... tha...

It is Obama's fault. Or, is it Mary's fault? One of them are surely to blame.

Do teachers still have a moral turpitude clause in their contracts?

    If so, she failed miserably.

Gordon, You would be charged with APC, sitting at the curb or in a parking lot. There has to be a witness who saw you driving, before a DUI could be issued.

Perhaps another example of why Oklahoma ranks pretty low on the totem pole of education. Teacher selection? Naw, just a fluke.

Shoo fly just doesn't give up. How do you get from place to place? Would you be subject to arrest for DUI/drugs or alcohol if stopped or just get arrested for driving while stupid? What church do you attend?

Rusty, not according to other instances of drunkenness. You can be charged with DUI is you are passed out in your car sitting at the curb or in a parking lot.

How did she get to school?

    Did she drive?

    If so, why no DUI?

And, what's the name of the church she attends?

Maybe she partook in to-much Holy Communion?
