Tulsans on Tuesday re-elected Mayor Dewey Bartlett.

Bartlett stood before supporters at the Jazz Hall of Fame about 8:10 p.m. and said he'd received a phone call from former mayor Kathy Taylor conceding the race.

NO THEY DID RIGHT. I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR A PERSON ENDORSE BY TULSA WORLD. I SURE DO NOT ALLOW GOP NATIONAL FIGURES INFLUENCE DECISIONS. LIKE STEVIE L// KEATING. DURING PRIMARY THOSE WHO GET THE NATIONAL PARTY SUPPORT CAUSE ME TO DO A LOT MORE SEARCHING.
BILL C CAUSED ME TO DO MORE SEARCHING WHICH MAKES ME BELIEVE HE DRINKS THE KOOL AID. OKIES BUT ESPECIALLY TULSAN TAKE ELECTION MORE SERIOUS. 20% I WOULD GUESS A MAJORITY ARE LIKE ME I NEVER MISS AN ELECTION.

MONEY & LIES DON'T IMPRESS THE EDUCATED MAJORITY OF TULSA. THOSE WHO READ & KNOW HOW TO COMPARE ISSUES WILL WIN. EVEN THE CITY COUNCIIL CORRUPTION OF TULSA DID NOT FOOL THOSE WHO COULD READ AND SEARCH AND ASK THE QUESTIONS. IT WAS THE JOB RECORD OF BOTH WHO HAD SERVED IN THIS POSITION WHICH SPOKE THE LOUDEST. THE UNIONS SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL FOR WHOM THEY TOIL. .

Strike out the 'No' on all those Tea Party signs about higher taxes. The two infrastructure approvals will have way more effect on our lives than anyone/thing else. As for Bartlett, if you enjoy record homicide rates, police and fire layoffs, and a 7+ million budget deficit....you should be happy.

Seriously, the 46th largest city in the USA can't muster enough votes or interest in voting to ....do what....anything?

Dewey Bartlett is a goof that could only be elected in a churchocracy like Tulsa Oklahoma.

    There, fixed your spelling.

Anybody that thinks the sham for Pres. is improving ANYTHING, isn't credible - he's a partisan hack in major denial.

Obama's a joke and a national disgrace, elected by low information voters of bankrupt blue urban centers - basically a collection of special interest groups with their lips on the public ____.

America's performance under Obama is abysmal - all the world knows it except the blind sycophants. Putin plays him; the Ayatollah plays him; Europe has no confidence in him.

    And it shows.

P.S. - CT financial standing, the same CT you brag of,

Tex........... IF "it's Pres Obama's fault" one continues to wonder WHY the President who is improving things most for states like OK (low wages, high welfare, next to worst for H/C access) since LBJ's War on Poverty Act is held in low esteem by some fraction of the 11% of Tulsans with enough civic interest to deliver their lackluster mayor a "landsllde".

BTW isn't it puzzling too that states like MA, CT or WA that are not blessed with the rich natural resources of OK have much better stats in these areas. Might be awhile before OK comes close to matching MA's 95% with Romneycare access, eh?

Chris?? Is "the message" that states like OK have been in the Repub camp since LBJ twisted arms to pass the Voting Rights Act? Is there more?

Ty??? I wondered the same. Could you list the city's "freebies?" (Even one?)

Out where we live, 20% of voter turn out constitutes Voter Apathy. This is not peculiar to Tulsa, just indicative of how few people actually care about their government. Our small town had similar numbers last year...and we have far less impact on the region than Tulsa does. So who actually votes? Those with the most to lose, or those with the most to gain? I hardly consider this turnout a "vote of confidence" regardless of "winner". Good luck managing a city where 80% of voters apparently don't care.

I didn't vote for Bartlett last election but I did this election. Even if Kathy Taylor had won I would have wished her well in being mayor of Tulsa.

Not everything went the way I voted but at least I can say I voiced my opinion.

It's a shame approximately 20% of eligible voters in Tulsa decided for the other 80%, that didn't take time to vote.

Hooray! The race is over. Now let's get back to some more mediocrity and poorly run government.

It was the Obama factor. I'm not kidding.

Except for a few pinkos that dominate this board, Obama is as popular as the plague around these parts.

There was no reason to vote for Dewey Bartlett. There were lots of reasons to vote against an Obama hack - I didn't realize how grotesque and classless Taylor was until this campaign. I figured she was just a lousy politician. Got a real nasty disposition to go with poor taste in Presidential politics - no wonder she's a bundler for President Platitude.

Ivan, you know nothing of the sort "people held their noses while voting" for Bartlett.

As for Kathy Taylor. She received the 'freebie' vote as others have stated. Hardworking Tulsans did indeed vote for Mayor Bartlett - tired of having their hard work and dollars go to provide freebies for those who refuse to work and falsely believe they are always "entitled" to what doesn't belong to them.

I wonder if all that money Taylor spent down in Hilton Head with her wealthy liberal politicos, learning how to use key words such as 'accountability' which are false coming out of mouths like hers, was worth it for her in the long run? Those monies obviously failed Kathy Taylor this time because people who use their heads for "something besides a hat rack" as that old saying goes, weren't fooled. Especially after listening to them coming repeatedly out of Obama's mouth for the past several years.

Maybe it says something about the two mayoral candidates. I suspect a lot of people didn't want to vote for either of them.

Dewey Bartlett is the right man at the right time. Here's hoping he can make good use of the funding measures that also passed and get Tulsa back on the right track.

I wasn't aware that our city government had a lot of "freebies" to pass out. What "freebies" would those be?

Well, this is lousy. Bartlett sucks. At least I won't have to yell at any more Taylor people bothering me about my vote. I've told them to stop calling me every day for weeks. I really considered voting for Bartlett as much as her people kept bothering me. Don't get me wrong, I think both candidates sucked. I thought the third candidate in the primaries sucked, too. Kathy Taylor did a better overall job in her term than Dewey Bartlett has done in his. I did, however, vote for the propositions, so I guess I'm partly happy.

Bernie, I agree, teacher, that this is a sad fact,,,,,As long as people can get a guverment check, have food on their tables, have a car to drive & a cell or smart phone & government provided shelter....they wont find time to vote....In Australia you're subject to a hefty fine if you refuse to vote.

stop sliding in slimy midtown elitists that are out of touch with Tulsa. Barlett was just the lesser of two evils....the people that did vote had to hold their nose while doing so.

now Krazy Kathy.....now that you have spent over 3 million in your own and special interest money, do Tulsans a big favor and just GO AWAY. People don't forget the slimy mess you left this city in. Just go back to Florida and don't come back!
