U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe's 2014 re-election campaign took an unplanned detour to the hospital over the weekend.

"I went in for a routine colonoscopy that everyone gets and was sent to the hospital instead for open-heart surgery," Inhofe said Monday. "The doctors said, 'Your colon is perfect, but your heart is what we are worried about.' "

I don't know about your medical needs, but my doctors recommend one every ten years.

Interesting how some blogs, think everyone should be nice to Jim(war profiteer) Inhofe.
Jim(war profiteer)Inhofe...cares less about the people of Oklahoma!
Only....and I mean only, around election time, does Jim(war profiteer)Inhofe, think about Oklahoma
    Vote him out!!!

I hope Senator Inhofe has a speedy recovery. I do note though the previous poster's comment on how ironic it is that Mr. Inhofe thinks that everybody gets a routine colonoscopy. He has no idea how different life is for those people who do not have insurance.

Perhaps he will retire once he realizes how ridiculous he has become.

To put it mildly, I am not a fan of Sen Inhofe. But all the sarcastic, insensitive, outright mean remarks some of these posters are making cause me to wonder what kind of people they are? When is it funny to make jokes of a man's bad health? It sounds as if most of these posters are using this opportunity to say something "cute" and get a "like" from a similarly insensitive buddy no matter how callous it is. Now and then these posts are a chance to exchange good information but in spite of the difficulty in getting online, the useless ones still get on.

Perhaps he doesn't represent your views, but James Inhofe does represent the
views of the vast majority of the citizens of Oklahoma's 1st congressional district.

He's sure to be re-elected next year. The Democrats can't even recruit a credible candidate to oppose him.

Oklahoma is, after all, a very, very Red state.

I would think the doctor performing the routine colonoscopy was relieved when he realized it was Inhofe's head he was seeing and not a giant polyp.

Was my comment removed? I can't recall saying anything nasty. Hubby had 5 bypasses done many years ago so I'm aware of how serious and expensive this type of life-saving surgery is.
I'm not likely to agree with the senator on much, but I don't wish him harm.
Anyhow, I hope he recovers fully and quickly.

I cannot believe all the sophomoric mean-spirited comments I am seeing here. You guys are like a room full of jackals. Wait until you're the main course for dinner, or a late night snack. Your time will come: What goes around, comes around. Best to treat people how you'd like to be treated. With respect, honesty and with fairness. The low blows I see here have none of that. #cheapshots

The new site is one of the worst I have ever seen. Slow, bails out without cause.
I have just about given up on it as a usable source of information.

Thank you Jean. So wonderful to find a concerned, decent and caring comment posted among so much hate and vindictiveness towards Senator Inhofe. Despite their political rants and raves, Senator Inhofe is a good man and person, and has been a wonderful asset for this state in Washington. But it would take a person with common sense, honesty and the ability to recognize both qualities, to appreciate Senator Inhofe.
From all that we've been told, this was pre-emptive surgery, and unlike that your own husband went through Jean. Better to take precautions now, than to wait for future problems to develop.
Our hearts here, and prayers go out to Senator Inhofe and his family. And prayers for the Lord's forgiveness upon those who have posted such hateful comments today.

No room for a colonoscopy, with all that cash up his colon, from Big Oil,Big Coal and insider trading on Wall Street on defense contracts!
That easy life style from all that money, driving or flying everywhere, with no exercise, always clogs the veins.
And it always..I mean always helps, when you have the worlds best healthcare, he gets top to bottom checks on every visit... and not one time, has every said "thank you" taxpayer!!

Is everyone else having the same problems with this "New and Improved" TW Website?

You hit a key and then wait and wait and it might respond. You click on something, and get nothing. The format is so user unfriendly as to make what was simple on the old site, now impossible on the new one. Computer locks up on this site, where it never did before...Internet Explorer regularly shuts down "to protect my computer" on this site. Yet through all of this, the Advertising appears heavily on each page...ad revenue important, users on website important???

I'm going to take several weeks away from this malfunctioning site, and check back to see if improvements have been made...we can hope???

Inhofe represents the district I live in, but he certainly does not represent my wishes.

I do so wish he would retire and just float around Grand Lake, of course in a boat.

To the poster who claimed more than 7,000 people have died under Obamacare I say that's phenomenal as normally almost 8,000 die in a single day in the U.S.

I still have my "Elect Inhofe" bumper sticker on my Firebird. We elected Senator Inhofe to defeat Senator McCurdy who voted for the Assault Weapons Ban on semi-automatic rifles.

Senator Inhofe has defended our individual Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms without infringement, ever since. Good Job!

If you are going to blame sickness and disease and death on health insurance, then get ready for your beloved ObamaCare to rack up the numbers. For instance, the reports of people not being able to simply register for ObamaCare, and dying without health insurance are going to make headlines. It's your premise and your argument and now it is going to bite you in the rear end. There really is not a better thing to say but....

    Reap it

Happy that the Senator has health insurance!

To bad for the 524 Oklahomans that have died this year because they didn't have health insurance.
To bad for the 8,264 Oklahomans that have had to file medical bankruptcy this year.

October 3, 2013 -- Today's count of the health care dead and broke for profit in the U.S.:

The 2013, to date, U.S. medical-financial-industrial -complex system dead: 34,950
The 2013, to date, U.S. health care system bankrupt: 550,930.

    Thanks Inhofe, thanks Republicans!

Praying for Senator Inhofe's speedy recovery! Open heart surgery no picnic in the park! Very serious business. Hubby had a quadruple bi-pass fifteen years ago, and I am still recovering.... Just joking. Though, in my defense, hubby is not a good patient.

Heart goes out to the Inhofe family and all who love him. I pray he is in good hands, and will get the absolute best care possible. .......On pins and needles. Hoping so much all went well with the surgery.
