NOVEMBER NIE CLASSROOM OF THE MONTH

Sandburg Elementary
Second Grade
Teachers Linda Dowell and Taunia Smith

This is Mrs. Linda Dowell and Mrs. Taunia Smith’s second grade class at Sandburg Elementary School. The class is pictured with their “Pumpkin Patch News” display. Mr. Scarecrow keeps tabs on all the news. Students search the paper for important headlines, comics and stories of the day and glue them to the leaves that surround the pumpkin patch. Mr. Scarecrow gets a new Tulsa World to read, periodically, after the second graders finish studying it. This one happened to be the day after the election of Barack Obama as our new president. Students participated in the NIE Tulsa World Mock Election and were excited to see the next day’s headline.

See your classroom here! All entries that do not win this month are entered again the next month. Good Luck!
