Where the candidates stand on the issues seems to have little to do in this presidential election. Our nation faces some huge life changing issues in the near future and all the talk of both political parties seems to be "our great, moral and good people" will beat you "no good sons of a gun."

Does the government bailout of Wall Street remind anyone of the Commercial Financial Services fiasco? It was the same deal, a buy of bad credit for pennies on the dollar and trying to collect and resell. Everyone knows the outcome of CFS.

- Make it count
One reason Congress has an even lower rating than the president is that elections are rigged in favor of incumbents. It's hard to get rid of those who are in office, no matter how bad they may be. Once in office, members of Congress have franking privileges, obsequious lobby money, some redistricting influence and other advantages that give them a big head start in every race.
