In regards to a Jan. 20 article about the three city workers who feel slighted for their good deeds:

Yes, they did a commendable and honorable thing. They did the right thing. But do we have to be rewarded for doing the right thing?

There are many people who do the right thing every day, because it is the right thing, not because they want to be publicly recognized or financially rewarded.

Many servicemen and women and veterans have never received recognition for what they have done, but you don't hear them whining!

I agree with this letter. Seems everyone wants a pat on the back, which they deserved it but they didn't need to make a big fuss about it.

We certainly hear about all the bad in society. Maybe if we heard more about the good things, more good will be done. Whats a pat on the back going to hurt?
