Theodore Armistead Reeds
REEDS - Theodore Armistead, March 5, 1921 - October 1, 2009 Theodore Armistead Reeds, 88, died October 1, 2009, at his home in Denver of Alzheimer's disease. A private memorial will be held November 6th in Tulsa. Ted was born March 5, 1921 in Oklahoma City, OK A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he also attended Oberlin College and Yale University School of Architecture. He served in the Marine Air Corps as a carrier based reconnaissance pilot during WWII in the Pacific Arena. Following the war Ted began a career of designing and building homes in Tulsa. His work here included over forty residences. He lived in Tulsa until 1967 when he moved his family to Aspen, CO. Ted is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Sally, now living in Denver, and daughters, Sara DeVilliers, of Houston, Wendy of Los Angeles, Allison of Denver and sons, Ted A. Reeds, II of Tulsa, Mark of Adair and Arthur of Carbondale, CO. He is also survived by son-in-law, Isaac DeVilliers, daughters-in-law Lindsay, Jeanne and Jon Nell Reeds and six grandchildren, Trip, Laird, Lucas, Cole, Trenton and Kara. For those of you who had the privilege of living in a Ted Reeds Design please remember how open and full of light your home was. You were the lucky recipients of this perfectionist's legacy.
