Of all the competitors trying to win or set personal records at Tulsa's Williams Route 66 Marathon, one of the most unusual showdowns for Sunday's race will involve two elite runners — and their sons in strollers.
Carolyn Rice Osborne graduated from Hillcrest School of Nursing in 1959 and received a special gold pin given to registered nurses. For a girl who paid for nursing school with her babysitting money, that shiny pin meant a lot.
The family behind Tulsa's Von Franken Family Run exists only in spirit. But it's a spirit of giving and camaraderie.

Forkandknife, this article is specifically about the people who logged the most miles through Tulsamillionmiles.
Had Clayton Sipes participated in Tulsamillionmiles, he would have been included. Otherwise, his journey has nothing to do with this article.
Please feel free to send information about his charity efforts to the Tulsa World for a separate article.
Tallgirle, Jason and I dreamed up this Tulsa to-do list for Britney while trying to figure out where we could possibly spot her. And yes, Little Black Dress is fab for shorties like me, but you probably have long legs, so it's a tradeoff :)
And here I was thinking someone was going to mock my overly poppy taste in music (I do write about "American Idol," after all :) I'll have to give running to classical music a try, that could be cool. And if you're into rock (at least for weightlifting), you should check out the Killers.

To answer PR's question: The 200 to 500 mg figure is the minimum amount of sodium our bodies need to function properly. The 2,300 mg is the recommended daily allowance -- the maximum you should eat each day. But as the article said, it's actually less for anyone with high blood pressure -- 1,500 mg.
I found this helpful explanation of what excess sodium does to your body from CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta:
"Too much sodium can cause a siren to go off internally. When excess salt flows through your bloodstream, your kidneys get defensive. They release a hormone that triggers blood vessels to contract, which causes your blood pressure to rise. From there it’s a ripple effect on your health."
I want to know where Adam got his eye sparkles and his angel wing getup for his performance with Kiss. I read that he painted his platform boots himself, though.
Jim - I actually only had two meat substitution products the whole week (the tempeh and soyrizo). The headline is a bit misleading there, since I didn't eat any tofu (I've tried it many times, not a fan). So I ate tons of fresh veggies and fruit, that's actually the bulk of what I ate for the week -- and the article explains that. We didn't feel the need to list what I ate for every single meal. But thanks for reading anyway :)
