On Friday, Diversafest announced another band will join its growing roster of headlining acts.
Influential American progressive metal act Clutch will be part of the two-day festival, July 25-26, in the Blue Dome District of downtown Tulsa.
The group joins Paramore, Ravi, Disco Biscuits, All American Rejects, Ghostland Observatory, Zappa Plays Zappa, Ty England, The Roots, moe., Helmet, Phantom Planet, The Apples in Stereo and Edison Glass.
Clutch formed in 1991 and built a local following through constant gigging. The musical style is constantly evolving, but keeps its roots planted in blues, morphing from metallic hardcore punk to hard rock.
In the fall of 2006, the band hit the studio with producer Joe Barresi (Kyuss, Melvins, Tool) to record "From Beale Street to Oblivion," released in March 2007.
More bands will be announced, organizers said.
Two-day wristbands are $30 in advance, $40 at the gate.
Tickets are available at www.tulsaworld.com/Dfest.
