Bond...be Bond

With the cars, the clothes, the guns and the gadgets, life must be pretty sweet for James Bond. But why should he have all the fun? With a little knowledge and a lot of cash, you too can be a well-dressed, gun-toting, debonair dream.
"Shaken, not stirred"
Throughout most of the Bond movies, he orders vodka martinis. Being a secret agent with a license to kill has to create a little stress.
If you want to taste the original drink, as per the first novel "Casino Royale," then order yourself a vesper martini:
3 measures Gordon's gin
1 measure vodka
1/2 measure of Kina Lillet
Shake over ice and strain into a cocktail glass garnished with a thin slice of lemon peel.
Sean Connery was the first Bond to utter the popular
catch phrase, in 1964’s “Goldfinger.” It been a virtual script
requirement since.
"Anyone want to play poker now?"
Bond spends about as much time in casinos as he does in strangers' beds. We can't recommend any strangers or their beds, but for endless poker action, check out the Cherokee Casino.
With 36 tables in its poker room, you're bound to find a game. If you were truly James Bond, you'd find yourself in the high-stakes room with nothing to lose.
If you could afford to gamble like 007, you could possibly afford the next item on the list.
Quote from “Casino Royale” (2006)
"Would you like me to drive?"
The
Aston Martin might be the quintessential Bond car, but since the nearest dealer is in Dallas, you'll have to make do with a BMW.
"BMW is often featured in Bond movies, with the Z3 and the Z8," said Tom Escue, sales adviser at BMW of Tulsa, 9702 S. Memorial Dr.
The most Bond-like car on the lot now is the M6 convertible that "runs a little over $100,000."
"Anyone who is serious about buying one is welcome to come and test-drive."
Make sure to bring your driver's license and proof of insurance.
Quote from “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977)
“That gun, it looks more
fitting for a woman.”
Oh, James, you don't know about guns, but you do know about women.
Fans of the series know that his main firearm is the Walther PPK. You can get yourself armed at Sports World, 6841 E. 41st St. It offers a Walther PPK/S stainless for $490.80.
Once you're strapped, head to Tulsa Fire Arms, 5949 S. Garnett Road, and fire away for $25. Shooters must be 21.

“Thunderball” (1965)
"Ejector seat? You're joking."
Bond has Q to create all of his high-tech gadgetry. We don't.
We do, however, have Tommy Griffin, who supplies local private detectives with all their tools. His two most Bond-esque items are pinhole cameras and GPS trackers.
"The cameras are real easy to hide and are about the size of a dime. It will see through a hole the size of a toothpick."
The cameras start at $69. The trackers, which start at about $450, allow you to log in online and track with an aerial map.
"It's a little black box with two 100-pound magnets that you can prop up underneath a vehicle or construction equipment."
To get in touch with Griffin, call 829-5165.
Quote from “Goldfinger” (1964)
“Now put your clothes back on and I’ll buy you an ice cream.”
Bond is quite the dapper gent and most likely, nothing you have in your closet would meet the specifications
for dressing the part.
“You definitely need an Italian tuxedo,” said Heather Reyes, manager of the men’s department at
Abersons, 3509 S. Peoria Ave. “I’d recommend a classic, single button Armani tuxedo. No pre-tied bow
tie either. You’ve gotta learn to tie it yourself.”
The tux runs $1,875.
“It’s a cool $2,000 by the time you put a shirt and tie on with it.”
As for shoes, Reyes recommends something black from To Boot, handmade Italian footwear costing
$375.
