AMERICAN

ROCK-A-BILLY’S GRILL

10355 Highway 16, Beggs, (918) 267-7625

Not rated / $ / B-L-D

This former truck stop off U.S. 75 features American dishes, barbecue and burgers with names such as Old School and Fat Boy. A jalapeno-cheese-pineapple burger is available by request. The Whole Hog Biker special has six eggs, six strips of bacon, four sausage patties and hash browns.

SEAFOOD

BODEAN SEAFOOD

3376 E. 51st St., 743-3861

/ $$$ / L-D

This 41-year-old restaurant features creative preparations presented in an elegant setting. Previous standouts from the seasonal menu have included broiled oysters, shrimp-andlobster bisque, seared sea scallops and Alaskan halibut. Bodean also has a retail market attached to the restaurant with fresh seafood.

AMERICAN

SUTURE’S

7133 S. Yale Ave., 481-5007

Not rated / $ / L-D

Nurse Goodbody’s super salad, Hot Lip’s chicken wings and the Dr. Nolan sandwich are among the selections that rank well above standard bar food at this 15-year-old watering hole. Daily specials include such items as a pulled-pork sandwich, the bottomless bowl of spaghetti, chicken-fried steak and the ranch steak.

STEAKS

LOGAN’S ROADHOUSE

9026 E. 71st St., 806-2828; 9531 N. Owasso Expressway, 272-7017, Owasso

/ $$ / L-D

This national chain plays on the rough-and-tumble roadhouse theme, but it’s gentle enough for the kiddies, who will enjoy the peanuts, blazing fire pits and booming noise level. Moderately priced steaks and yeast rolls straight from the oven in a baking pan top the menu.

TULSA'S OWN

STEAKFINGER HOUSE

403 S. Boulder Ave., 584-0454

Not rated / $ / B-L

Basil Blackburn, or Mr. B as he was known when he ran the old Boots Drive-In during its heyday, is in his 29th year at Steakfinger House, a downtown fixture specializing in steakfingers and house-made gravy. Hamburgers and traditional breakfasts also are popular, along with the morning cinnamon rolls.

THAI, AMERICAN

TAVIN’S THAI GRILL

12650 E. 86th Place North, Owasso, 274-9939

/ $$ / L-D

Tavin’s Sampler with fried jumbo shrimp, spring rolls, beef and chicken satay with two sauces and a salad is a good place to start at this sevenyear- old family restaurant near the Owasso 10 theater. Thai barbecue ribs, fried red snapper and a Wednesday special, Cherokee tacos, are terrific.
