The pets: Honey, a 7-year-old Staffordshire; and Sasha, a 2-year-old tabby.

Their family: Brian and Stephanie Thurman of Jenks

Smart and sweet: Honey is very hyper and affectionate, but also very smart. She was found as a stray puppy. She was taught how to bark and sit on command in under 20 minutes.

Even if she's done something bad while we're away and we pretend we don't notice, she still puts her head down and hides.

Curious kitty: Sasha is a hyperactive, slightly odd cat who is always curious about everything we're doing at any particular moment. She has to be in the middle of our projects and activities.

She loves paper grocery bags, so when we come home with groceries we throw the paper bags all over the floor and she has to go play in each and every one. She loves being held upside down and carried like a baby. When we walk past a doorway or a wall she wants to stretch out as far as she can to touch it while lying in our arms that way.

Family play day: The best moments are when the weather is sunny and mild on a weekend afternoon, and our two dogs and two cats would lie on the patio and sunbathe with us — all six of us just soaking up the sun and enjoying the beautiful, relaxing day.
