Melissa Gilbert, who charmed a generation as Laura in the TV series based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House on the Prairie," is now headlining a new musical based on Wilder's beloved stories.
Gilbert plays Caroline, the matriarch of the family determined to carve a life for itself from the South Dakota sod. The production, brought to the Tulsa PAC by Celebrity Attractions, has some stellar talent among its creators: award-winning opera and stage director Francesca Zamballo, Tony Award-winning playwright Rachel Sheinken, and music from Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman, who also composed the score for Tulsa Opera's "The Little Prince."

Glass act
Glass artist Kreg Kallenberger, whose sculptures in optic-grade lead crystal are shown and sold internationally, will have an exhibit of new works opening Thursday at the M.A. Doran Gallery, 3509 S. Peoria Ave. In recent years, Kallenberger has been making sculptures that evoke the landscape of Osage County, where he now lives, by exploiting the way light reflects and refracts through glass.
