Melissa Gilbert, who charmed a generation as Laura in the TV series based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House on the Prairie," is now headlining a new musical based on Wilder's beloved stories.
Gilbert plays Caroline, the matriarch of the family determined to carve a life for itself from the South Dakota sod. The production, brought to the Tulsa PAC by Celebrity Attractions, has some stellar talent among its creators: award-winning opera and stage director Francesca Zamballo, Tony Award-winning playwright Rachel Sheinken, and music from Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman, who also composed the score for Tulsa Opera's "The Little Prince."

Rob Zombie, the 'Deluxe' version
Rob Zombie returns to Tulsa as part of his "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" world tour, which kicked off Oct. 29. This is the White Zombie band founder's first headlining tour since 2007, and this time he brings special guests and opening acts Nekromantix and Captain Clegg & the Night Creatures.
Zombie's upcoming album, "Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool," is a companion to the 1998 original. It's set for release sometime in 2010.
"I am bouncing off the walls like a mental patient," said Zombie in a note to fans on his Web site. "That tells me it's time to take it to the stage and let the demons loose."
All ages. Doors open 6:30 p.m. Sunday, showtime 7:30 p.m. Brady Theater, 105 W. Brady St. Tickets are $35, plus fees, available at Reasor's and Starship Records in Tulsa and Buy For Less locations in OKC. Charge by phone at (866) 977-6849 or online

Glass act
Glass artist Kreg Kallenberger, whose sculptures in optic-grade lead crystal are shown and sold internationally, will have an exhibit of new works opening Thursday at the M.A. Doran Gallery, 3509 S. Peoria Ave. In recent years, Kallenberger has been making sculptures that evoke the landscape of Osage County, where he now lives, by exploiting the way light reflects and refracts through glass.
