It's a kitchen fanatic's fantasy.

The 18th annual Kitchens a la Tulsa tour will showcase the remodeled kitchens of six local homes, along with the work of local florists and restaurants and chefs.

Through the years, the tour's host, the Alliance to the Tulsa County Medical Society, has raised $300,000 to support the Parent Child Center of Tulsa and the Nurses Triage Clinic at the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.

"We are thrilled with its success and so excited about how it will help our beneficiaries," said Sara Fox, Kitchens a la Tulsa chairwoman. "I think its longevity can be attributed to the dedication to this event shown by many physicians and their spouses, and also to the enthusiasm of the kitchen designers that participate year after year."

The kitchens featured on this year's tour were not only designed with functionality in mind, but the designers also adhered to the architecture and style of the homes, said Katherine Haskell, public relations chairwoman.

"Designers have used the best of their talent in designing the layout of each kitchen, maximizing the usable space while increasing flow and comfort between work areas and other rooms," she said. "Finishes are also very important in current trends, so look for a variety of textures and organic, natural materials."
