On Tuesday, Ree Drummond begins a 19-city book tour for “The Pioneer Woman Cooks.”
"Meet the Pioneer Woman" is from 7-9 p.m. at the Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 S. Peoria Ave., on Tuesday. Admission is free, and the book will cost $27.50.
For those unfamiliar, Drummond is the accidental country girl and face of the Pioneer Woman, her wildly popular blog with about 13 million page views a month.
Raised in Oklahoma, Drummond moved to Los Angeles for college, expecting to never turn back. But on a visit home for the holidays she met Ladd Drummond, known to her blog readers as the “Marlboro Man,” a fourth-generation cattle rancher who would soon become her husband.
Now she lives on a remote ranch north of Pawhuska where she cooks hearty meals for cowboys and home schools her four children.
Editor's Note: Natalie Mikles met with the Pioneer Woman recently. Read her full account of the Drummonds, how Ree's life has changed since her blog went viral, and more in Tuesday's World or tulsaworld.com/scene.
