Broken Arrow native Kristin Chenoweth will be “Glee”-ful again.
The Broken Arrow native will reprise her role as April Rhodes, an out-of-control former Glee Club member, in one of the remaining nine episodes being developed for the Fox series, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Emmy winner, author and Broadway veteran Chenoweth guest-starred on the singing-and-dancing high school comedy on Sept. 30. The series airs at 8 p.m. Wednesdays on Fox, chahnnel 23, cable 5.
“EW” interviewed co-creator Ryan Murphy who said “he's considering approaching Idol runner-up Adam Lambert about appearing on the series.” Also, Joss Whedon plans to direct an episode and Tony nominee Jonathan Groff (Lea Michele’s costar from Broadway's Spring Awakening) has been cast as the lead singer of Vocal Adrenaline, the glee-club champs who performed “Rehab” in the series pilot last May. “He is a male diva - a miva,” Murphy told ‘EW” about the character who will try to romance Rachel.
Glee is averaging 8 million viewers a week, according to the magazine. Mainly, a young audience who download the cast’s latest cover tunes after the episode is over. On Nov. 3, Columbia records and Twentieth Century Fox Television will release “Glee: The Music, Volume 1.” It’s the first in a series of soundtracks featuring music heard in the first season of the show.
“It seems to have transcended just being a television show to moving into other cultural areas,” said co-creator Ryan Murphy.
The “Glee” issue of "EW" hits newsstands Friday.
