Watch the new video now, streaming via CMT:
Monday morning, Country Music Television offered up the CMT-exclusive world premiere of Toby Keith's new music video, "Cryin' For Me (Wayman's Song)" from Keith's new CD, "American Ride."
The video premiered at 6 a.m. online at CMT.com, and will air on CMT on Tuesday morning, CMT representatives confirmed with the Tulsa World.
The tune was written by the Clinton, Okla., native for bassist and basketball star Wayman Tisdale, Keith's longtime friend and musical collaborator.
Tisdale was a longtime Tulsa resident, Booker T. Washington High School graduate, and is a member of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. His sports and music legacy in Oklahoma is a profound one.
Keith worked closely
with the jazz virtuoso -- in 2008, they recorded the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" together.
The debut brings sports and music fans together on Tisdale and Keith-related sites across the internet, including sites for the NBA, famed saxophonist Dave Koz, the Tisdale family church and University of Oklahoma, among others, said Brian Bayley of CMT.
Keith wanted to perform the tune at Tisdale's funeral in May, but admitted he was too emotional about the loss of his friend to complete the tune. Instead, he dedicated to Tisdale an acoustic version of Willie Nelson's "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground."
